How to tackle people recovering accounts

Okay, there must be at least a few people who have bought really good account, for a large sum of money, then have the accounts recovered in no time.



I have come up with a simple plan to stop this from happening.
It is similar to the "Insurance" on PlayAuctions.

Player A wishes to buy account of Player B
Player B gives account to moderator/middleman.
Player A gives account to moderator/middleman.

Both of the items will be kept by moderators for at least a week.

After they're both secured, items will switch places.
I'm not saying its a permanent fix to stopping this, but its a start.


And of course, MM's will have to have a much more positive reputation to be able to handle such trades.

They can still recover the accounts after the one week period...?

 

I understand that, and I was only using 1 week as a guideline.

 

No amount of time would make a difference though so I don't see exactly what you are getting?

 

I agree, they could recover it a month down the road or 6 months down. It sucks, but I've bought a few accounts recently and just made sure I bought from either donators, mods, etc. and people that have been on the site for more than just a short time. I'm included in the Newcomer category but I'm not selling accounts atm

 

Not even in years can it change the recovery option, if he's on the original IP then he will win recoveries no matter what.

 

Just buy from trusted people - that's the best you can do tbh.

Doesn't matter if the MM holds the account for a year. The chance of recovery is still the same. Closed.
