    Tips on Twisted Fate

Sold my main to go 0-10 in promos to be in Bronze 5 for funsies. I've decided to grind from Bronze > Plat just using TF. I'm basically just learning him on the way lol I'm at Bronze 1 already ( skipped from Bronze 4 to Bronze 2 in one series ) and I'll probably have trouble once I start playing vs higher golds. What I'm wondering is a good build path. I've talked to Fate Twisted ( a high ranked TF player) who likes going Sorc Boots > Athene's/Morello's > Zhonyas > Lich Bane but I don't know how I feel about that early game with Athene's when I have to be more aggressive in putting my team in a position to be able to win. Just wondering what you guys think about a good TF build path. Right now I'm at 80% win rate (18 games or so) going with the build path of Sorc Boots > Lich Bane > Deathcap > Void staff but I'm starting to wonder if maybe my build will become less viable once I hit mid-high elo. Sry bout wall o' text doe lol

EDIT: Also, I've been having great teammates from Bronze 5->Silver 1 ranked players. I don't see what the fuss is all about. If you play well, people aren't so toxic lol maybe yall be playin on tilt too often :p

I played TF for the first time this season on an account I was boosting, for around 40/50 games. Had like a 80% win rate.

In regards to build paths, it's really situational. I generally go for athenes vs an enemy AP mid laner/magic dmg team, and morrellos vs an AD heavy enemy team. However, if I'm quite ahead, I'll generally go sheen>deathcap>zhonyas>void, and then build situationally.

Generally however, I'll more than likely always get either morrellos or athenes.

I would probably go Athene's first as it's an excellent pickup on almost any AP caster. I'll share what I would personally do in different situations.
Also, Void staff can be picked up whenever you feel like you need it. If the enemy isn't buying much MR, then it can be put off till later.

Standard Build Path: Athene's -> Deathcap -> Void Staff -> Lich Bane -> Zhonyas

Vs heavy AD: Athene's/Morellos -> Zhonyas -> Void Staff -> Deathcap -> Lich Bane

    High Burst/Combo build: Athene's -> DFG -> Lich Bane -> Void Staff -> Deathcap

Just know how to itemize properly. E.g If the enemy has 4 AD, rush Zhonyas; 4 AP, get Abyssal scepter etc.

    As far as boots,
Sorc shoes will be your best bet most of the time. But if you feel like you're getting CC'd or vsing heavy AP, go for the Merc Treads. I'm not really a fan of Mobility boots but I guess that's an option as well.

    Hope that helps :)

Can I ask what your elo is? And also, I've tried CDR Boots + Athene's/Morello's and that seems to have really good results in terms of landing stuns and keeping my team in position to keep winning the current team fight or just mega-peeling my adc.

I'm currently Diamond V, although I'm semi-retired from ranked, so I'm not really up to date on the meta and what not.

Here's my two cents: I think it's best to get Sorcerer's Shoes for the early game, and then swap them out for Merc Treads or CDR boots later on. I feel like Sorc shoes don't scale that well into the late game. So something like Tenacity+MR or extra CDR would be more beneficial than +15 Magic pen; plus you'll already have a Void Staff by then which is often sufficient.

Also, usually with Blue buff, you can reach up to 35% CDR with only Athene's, so CDR boots become somewhat inefficient as 10% CDR from them goes to waste if you have blue buff.

It's all kind of situational really. Just experiment and mess around with builds until you find what works best for you.

    Best of luck! :)

Ahh.. No one gives me blue in this elo I'm at haha but that switch out makes a lot of sense. Kind of like how on certain champs you switch out the early liandry's. Thanks man! I'll try that out.
