I'm just going to explain the misunderstanding here, atleast what I've noticed during my playtime.

Basically, when you die, if you click on "Exit" then you start a new game by clicking on "Play", your last score will be saved and you will start from there. But if you die and click on "Try again", you will start from scratch and your last score will not be saved.

@Gen You might want to update the original post and add something like you must not use "Exit" after you die otherwise your entry/participation won't count.
