Reported Scammers

I've seen way too many guys who get scammed by the same guy, trusted or not, scam quitting or not. Not everyone knows about the report a scammer let alone see who's potentially scamming. When I reported someone he finally got banned after 2-3 days. In that time he could have been out doing dirt and scamming others.

When someone is getting reported and there's enough initial evidence I believe they should be hit with a TWC, warning or something of the sort. If the one reporting that individual is found to be false then ban him by all means but I just read several reports of people filing scamming claims throughout spread periods of time which means it's not getting dealt with fast enough for others to catch wind of it, unless they religiously check forums.

 

For the most part, from what I've seen over the last few days I've seen TWC's or DNT's applied by mods as soon as they finish reading the evidence. May have been a coincidence based on timing but nonetheless i agree; I've seen many people in that section over and over again with little to no repercussion.

That's almost always the case. Unless there is missing evidence, they're either DNTed or banned. I don't think I've seen many cases where staff was too slow to ban someone which allowed the scammer to scam a lot more. Any scamquits usually is from delayed reports, or the scammer scamming multiple people at once.

 

They usually apply a DNT which one could argue is somewhat more effective than TWC although not really since it's easy to avoid. Generally people all getting scammed by 1 person is due to that person cleaning accounts or recovering them when doing a service or having sold multiple accounts, not due to people actively trading with them when they have an open scam report. A TWC, DNT, or even a ban won't stop people from cleaning accounts or recovering them if their intention is to scam and they have the ability to do so.

 

I cant recall a case this has happened, I'm sure it has but staff are typically on the ball when it comes to big users scamming.

Unless its a major sythe user or a gold giant their almost always dnt'd or banned immediately.

 

If there is credence to a scam report, but we are still figuring out the final outcome, a DNT is applied. So basically, this is already a thing in cases where we think it should be added and is basically left to staff discretion.
