Osama Bin Laden's Body???

So American finally kills and captures the most wanted man in the world, ever. Why did we not get to see the body? There's no video evidence, etc.

They immediately dump it in the deep ocean. How convenient. I just want opinions on how fucking sketchy that is.

The reasons they gave are bullshit. "They don't want a shrine people would worship at." etc.

 

It's not mosque people first of all. I'm not sure where you got that quote. They dumped it so that terrorists do not worship his grave.

I do find it sketchy as fuck. Almost not believing it. I honestly don't know whether to believe it or not. Al-Qaeda did say they were going to avenge his death so I'm guessing it's true?

 

They have photos, but they didn't release them for fear of stirring even more anger in the terrorist community.

I find it perfectly normal, seems like it was the easiet thing to be done at the time and honestly the guy didn't deserve a proper burial. About pictures of his body, I don't know how you would expect them to release them, it can't go in newspapers (a dead body on the front page isn't very attractive) and us showing it around would just get the terriorist networks even more filled with anger/hate and maybe even driving them to do something extreme.

 

It was a great decision they did not release the body to be displayed to the public like a giant, bleeding, American banner. It would have been idiotic to provoke Al Qaeda in such a way as to flaunt around the decaying remnants of their spiritual leader. What would have been accomplished if they had? As for dumping his body: cremations is HIGHLY against the Islamic religion, it would have angered the Muslims much more to burn the body than to dump it in the ocean. The reason they chose, then, to dump it was because they probably didn't want people being able to retrieve the body, so the only ways to make a body unreachable by virtually everyone is either burn it (see above), or put it somewhere no one can go. The bottom of the ocean was a good choice.

 

There was a guy that claimed to have found the body a few months ago. Well, maybe, what was dumped.

Can't tell whether it was true or not. He gave specific detail to where it was, how he found it and how long it took. He said he just wanted to see if Osama was really in there. Didn't hear anything from him, if he did indeed get to it, it would have been in the news whether or not Osama was there. He was struggling financially though, and wanted money for a ship or something, could have been a scheme to make money.

 

It all just seems very sketchy of the government. No one outside can know if it is true or not. It seems the government is hiding almost everything from us.

Same. People are saying they did it not to enrage the Muslims. Last time I checked, the vast majority of Muslims never supported Osama. Muslims as a race don't believe in mass murder and acts of terrorism as a good thing. So that's a misguided excuse.

 

I don't believe he was killed either, the American soldiers who went to his house must have been some of the most highly trained men in the world, and they killed an unarmed enemy who may have given the American Government the most information about any terrorist groups ever. Seems legit :s

 

Finding a dumped body at sea is like finding a needle in a haystack: it's enormously improbable, and I'd be very skeptical of any such claims.

Considering that Al Qaeda admitted that Bin Laden was killed and the ease with which his continued existence could be confirmed (another video?), fakery of this incident could only have occurred within a larger conspiracy. Given that I don't accept such claims, I consider Bin Laden's death to be genuine.

 

I used to believe he died at Tora Bora, now I am not sure which to believe. I think I will go with the official story though.

 

The less stuff released, the sooner the world can move on from it, or forget about it, i don't really think twice of it at all, but if there were videos and pictures on the news everyday then i would, because it would be stuck there.

I do believe he has been killed, but I find it hard to believe that they got rid of the body by dumping it in the ocean, they definately would have some reasons to keep it, though I can't think of any.

 

who throws a man in the ocean after dying? they did not even do that to hitler they actually burned his body to ashes which is common now a days and burried the leftovers...

 

I don't really understand how you could go and kill Osama no worries, but it is a matter of national conflict if he is not buried in accordance to his religion.

I also remember hearing that in his religion the body must be buried within 24 (or 48?) hours of death, hence the hasty dump.

 

The Soviets were the ones who did that, and Hitler's death didn't occur without inspiring its own conspiracy theories.

 

He must have never heard the story about how Hitler had the Wunderwaffen built and then took a sub to the north pole under the ice caps and went into the center of the earth where he now lives happily planning the master race's eventual take over.

I think the OP is one of those people who also believe the world is ran by lizard shapeshifters from some ancient Mesopotamian star that genetically engineered the human race to mine monoatomic gold to keep the alien lizard shapeshifter home planet alive. Also known as someone who doesn't understand logic and get's all of their political, social, scientific, and historical theories from random people on youtube and some nasty network of convoluted crack pot bloggers.


If you follow the story and then consider history and the social ramifications of the situation the actions of the military make completely logical sense. Unless you don't follow logic, then there is no hope for this argument.

 

They most likely took some pictures of it, in order to show Obama and officials. But releasing the pictures would just incite more hatred, and might be a catalyst for more terrorist attacks.
