Can't play RuneScape.

Basically, I've got a new computer and it's not letting me play RS. It says it's probably being blocked by my firewall, but I added it into the allowed and it still won't work for me.

Any and all help is appreciated guys.

I'm on Windows 7.

 

Is there an error message of any sort popping up? Do you have the latest version of java installed?

 

I installed Java on it yesterday, that's when I got it. It won't load the webpage or the desktop client, the client is giving me an error message.

 

Anyone?

 

if its a new compter, as in brand new Hard drive mobo etc, do all your system updates first, update all your drivers, go in and delete all of the jagex caches, delete java, and the rs client, and do a fresh install of all of those programs and see if it helps, i know every now and then when i use swiftkit i had to clear out my jagex caches. in order to play.


edit- next time the error popsup grab the error code and google, runescape error ##### etc etc, 9 times out of 10 you'll find out whats wrong.

 

Are you on an administrator account? You probably are but on a limited account it won't load properly. Make sure you have all the Windows updates installed, using the latest version of your Internet browser (even IE9 is fine), and Java is up to date.

Do you have an Antivirus as well as Windows that could be blocking it?

 

Thanks guys, installing the rest of the updates, and yes, this is an admin account. Will post back if the problem prosists.

 

What anti-virus/firewall are you using?

 

I would un-install Java then re-install it. It did work for me once.
