I'm trying to download a patch for World of Warcraft, but it says "Your computer appears to be behind a firewall", but I turned off my windows defender firewall already, and it still does not work. Anyway I can fix that?
You can just add an exception to the firewall. Just goto: Start -> Control Panel -> Windows Firewall -> Allow a program through a.... and add whatever it is then apply and ok. Hope this helped =)
It happens alot, leave it for awhile and it will download. The firewall shouldn't really effect it if its only windows.
What a useless post... You can also download the patch manually from www.worldofwarcraft.com that may be the easiest option.
How is it useless, i was just sugesting what i did,and maybe it might work if he does the same, geez man, stop hating.
Don't really want to reply as I'm just egging it on but I said the exact same thing one post above you. Ever considered reading a bit before you post?, It's not hating. He will be fine if he downloads it manually as the firewall will allow IE or whatever his browser is to download, and you don't need to reply.
3.1 is a big update so just leave it be and it will eventually update. Since their adding a new instance and such. I'd say close all your progs and maybe go do other stuff while it downloads to speed up the download.
Okay, but I think there is one more problem. Before the update, when I was trying to play WoW, after like 2 minutes everything froze, and my internet would dc. I would have to restart my internet, and everything would be ok again. If I tried to play WoW again, the same thing happens. This never happened before, any ideas why? And my firewall is turned off
If you have a router, its firewall might be giving you such a problem. Try 192.168.1.1 USER - (blank) Password - password Go under Security and Look for your fire-wall settings. Just turn it off, its the easiest way.
