Can't click on links on MSN

Title says all. I'm using the newest release of MSN Plus, and I can't click links in conversation windows.

I have the box next to 'Allow links in conversation windows and my contacts list' ticked, so that's not it.

 

Same problem is happening with me. I have to copy and paste the link to the address bar for it to work.

 

That's what I have to do, and TBQH it's getting annoying. Are you using MSN Plus Live or Just Windows Live Messenger?

I'm going to uninstall Plus Live and see if that fixes the problem. I'll post back here with the results.

EDIT: Deleting MSN Live PLUS did not fix the problem.

 

Dont bother, both versions (Plus + Live) are like that.
Microsoft did that, now you can not click links in conversation windows

 

I think they did it because of the Virus' silly people were clicking like the old "Foto? (Link here.) People were clicking the links and the Virus' spreading everywhere. It's for safety purposes, but yes it is a little frustrating.

 

We shouldn't have to suffer because morons click on virus'd links. There is an option to not allow links, maybe those people should use that feature.

 

Yeah I know, but I'd imagine so many people were complaining to Microsoft about this (And knowing how idiotic some people are, probably threatening them) they decided it's the safest thing. They did what big companies usually do, removed it for the own good, no-one else's.

Does it happen on the older versions of msn?

 

I'm not sure, but MSN forces updates now, so to use an older version you have to apply some patch or something. (http://www.oldversion.com/MSN_Messenger.html)

 

It is extremely annoying but if it stops some viruses then you can't argue with it.
