Can you get banned for auto typing?

I've never auto typed and I'm wondering if you can get banned for it.

Like does Jagex have a detection thing like they do for botting?

it's pretty obvious if your autotyping....and you get muted i believe.
A lot of people report autotyping spammers, i do...it gets annoying when you see "Join XXX merch clan and earn billions..." X10 in a 5secs

 

I think you can get a temp ban as well as a mute, because it's classed as macroing (if you use a bot to autotype, which you are obviously doing).

They don't get muted straight away. It could take up to a week for somebody to get muted. Well, that's from personal experience anyway.

 

They catch people all the time. Impossible to stay under the radar with that.

 

autotyping = mute for some days ,not ban for macroing..

 

Can be a temp ban if you are spamming a malicious website. Plus if a moderator comes by, he/she can warrant an immediate 48hr mute.

Though I go to Clan Wars...all I see is mass autotyping advertising clans...
There's like at least 50 spammers, tons 100+ as well.
And they spam comfortably?
If I knew I would be getting temp mute/mute for autotyping I wouldn't do it, myself.

Depends. I think I remember seeing something on the RS forums, saying that if they are auto typing something that has to do with the game and is not excessive, you won't get any punishment (ie, small pking clans) but if you are advertising a website, or doing over excessive clan advertising that spams the chat area then you will be muted for a few days.

 

yes you can of course i don't see the big deal in it but sadly it is against the rules to whored away spammers.

 

The problem is its practically impossible to determine whos spamming...Look at GE on world 1...you can't even tell who's spamming with autotypers since everyone is stacked by the bankers.

 

Mute only, they WILL NOT ban you unless what your spamming breaks other rules ie. You spam go to Sythe.com etc.

 

If you don't spam you will be fine.

And all they will do is mute you.

 

I think it depends what you use, i know for certain if you use shortkeys and are only using it to spam names for a runescape war in pvp/clw etc, even if you get muted they'l remove it if the names posted in clan leader forums section, happened to tons of people in my old clan and they all got un muted.

If however its for spamming in w2 etc longest i've seen for it was 12 day mute, never heard of anyone being banned for it, but i guess it'l depends on who handles your report and how many black marks you've got, i wouldn't suggest doing it either way.

 

Not necessarily. One time on my main I was using an autotyper for at least half an hour, before turning it off. I haven't had a mute from that, even to this day they haven't caught me.

 

lol back in the day i always used a free autotyper which instantly typed out everything and i never got a ban or any infractions
