Can i chuck in a hard drive

do you have to do anything special to add an extra hardrive to a computer.

or can you just buy one and put it in and it will recognise it just like a usb or something?

Normally, yea. You have to check what type of connections your old hard drive uses though, and see if there's still space for another one/a connector on the motherboard for another one.

 

Is the hard drive you putting in a portable usb hard drive? In most cases usb 2.0 hard drives dont need any software or put anything in.
