C. Ronaldo vs L. Messi

Who's the better soccer (football) player between the two. As of Sept. 2010, Lionel Messi is #1 in the world, followed by Cristiano Ronaldo. My question to you is, who's the better, overall player?

Please support your answer. Thanks.

One of the most debatable questions on the net. I'm going to go for C. Ronaldo though. He's a totally unique player with everything he does. Free-kicks, running style, penalties, etc. His form over the last 3 years has been fantastic, and he's goal return amazing.

Messi period. He's just really really fast, add his speed with a ball and a couple of tricks and hes supreme.

I'm going to go with Ronaldo. As Brendan stated he has his own "unique" style of play thats hard to describe. He's quick and powerful and when he has the ball and is going at top speed hes nearly impossible to stop.

Messi by far.

I've always had the impression that C. Ronaldo managed to steal some of Ronaldo's reputation.

C. Ronaldo in my opinion. He may be cocky and fake injuries a lot of times but he really does have an amazing shot. He also can do some pretty cool tricks. I don't know much about Messi though, only heard of him a few times to be honest.

Messi... IMO Ronaldo was better when he was in Manchester Utd.

Players like Messi fall like leaves, there'll be more whereas Ronaldo is unique.
As a person, I prefer Messi. As a player, Ronaldo is better.

They are both, not that good if you look at new talents like: Bojan, Nasri, Benzema..
OT: C.Ronaldo.

Its hard to compare Ronaldo and Messi but i think ronaldo has more composure.Yes Messi has fantastic 1 on 1 skill but Ronaldo outclasses him.
Ronaldo wins for me.

Messi, because when he plays, its amazing, his footwork and his goals.
