Examples of Rare Names

Generic Names: Common, 1 Word names; 'Black' 'Fire' 'Water', or everyday words such as 'Hi', 'Lol',and well-known names such as 'God', or 'Runescape'. Also, dictionary words do not count unless it has met the criteria.

Short Names:These names can vary from 1-3 Characters, and its rarity may also vary. See Generic Names above. A 1 Character name is obviously very desirable because there are only 36 possible combinations, and is the shortest name out of all. You could be Woodcutting Yew in some discreet place in Lumbridge, but you are suddenly PM'ed by some random person saying 'Omg nice name!@!@ add me pl0x!'. Enjoy your load of E-Fame.

2 Character Names: Much more common standing at a total of 1,306 total combinations(676 2 Letters, 260 1 Letter/1 Number, 260 1 Number/1 Letter, and 110 2 Number Names). They are widely popular among pures because of its simplicity and looks.
2 Letters: Highly popular among pretty much any type of accounts. Names like 'Xq', 'Jn', or, 'Tz' are ok if you old unoriginal name replaced. If you are a more serious collector, I would personally go for the names with actual meaning, like 'Hi', 'Yo', 'No', etc.

2 Numbers: These names are extremely rare considering there are only 110 possible combinations, and since the display name update, ALL of them are taken. If you have a name such as '69', '89', or '18', give yourself a pat in the back, because they get rarer and rarer everyday.

1 Number/1 Letter(Vice-Versa): Again, these names serve as 'Fill-in-the-gap' type of names if you can't find an original name, then go for these.Nothing much to say other than being a popular all-around name as well. Examples are '5a', 'B8', 'U3'. I wouldn`t classify them as super rare unless you have a name like 'C4' which stands for a plastic explosive.

3 Characters: Not much of a Market for them at this time and year, but still give a nice kick. Rare 3 Letter names include 'Cat', 'Dog', and 'Lol'. Also 3 Number names that have repeating numbers such as '333', '666', or '999' can also be classified as rare. Any 3 Character names with both letters and numbers, or a mix of random vowels or numbers, and numbers, are NOT rare at all. See Non-Rare Names.
