So my computer died out on me and I'm going to meet a guy tomorrow to buy this computer for $225, specs:

    Asus Desktop Computer (Originally $500)
    4GB Ram / 1TB Memory
R6770 Core Edition Graphics Card: 1GB Memory ($120)
    A new TR2 600W power supply ($65)
    plus 1 free xbox controller
    1 hdmi cord
    1 wireless mouse, wireless keyboard

With 2 games coming with it:
    Assassins Creed Revelations
    Fallout: New Vegas

What do you guys think? am I getting a pretty good deal?

Unless i missed it, i didnt see a processor. What cpu does it have? That could influence if it is worth it or not.

    What CPU & mobo?

CPU test: Intel Burn Test @ standard then run high - then Prime 95 for 1-3 hours
GPU test: Heaven Benchmark (from nvidia - standard/default settings)
Ram test: memtest86, it will take like 10 hours though so you'd have to do overnight perhaps. Otherwise not at all.

You can download these for free and you should also run coretemp the entire time to monitor temps and make sure it's stable. You run each test separately.

For $225, I'd say that's a decent deal. I would personally put in another 4GB of RAM, to bump it up to 8GB total.

The computer takes DDR3 SDRAM. How much would it cost me to upgrade to 8GB? I looked on newegg and I found some for $25? for 4gb? Seems too cheap to be true, just wondering.

Sweet, so is that the right kind then? The PC specification says it's upgradable to 8GB, but I don't know if I need to get a 4GB stick or 2x 2gb sticks?

Also, how much of a difference do you think that extra 4GB would make over the original 4GB? So 8GB in total?

Ask the guy you are buying it from if it has 1 4gb stick or 2 2gb sticks. I am going to guess 1 4 gig.
Also, 8 gigs will be a pretty nice upgrade, but if it comes to it you can upgrade the cpu for ~$170 and get a nice i5.

Cool... with 4Gigs though for now, do you have any idea what kind of game sit can run? Name any game you can think of, even Runescape. I need to have an idea of what all it can handle.

Expect maybe 5-10 fps lower than what it shows, seeing as you have a lesser cpu.

Not entirely sure, but it shouldnt be huge.
They usually set there games to completely maxed settings to benchmark them, so if you can live with a tiny lower settings you can run any game.

I wouldn't have thought you'd have any trouble with RuneScape, as for other games, you should be able to run them ok, but I wouldn't expect anything incredible out of it. If you wanted to take PC Gaming seriously, I would recommend an Nvidia brand card.
