Global Warming real or fake?

I think it's real because it has been getting hotter lately... Really hot. I live in San Diego.

 

Sure, it might be happening, but it's not the reason the media wants us to believe.

As it gets hotter, the polar caps will melt, as predicted, and in doing so will ultimately affect the northern ocean currents, which allows the north pole to stay at a constant temperature, and scientists predict that we'll reach another ice age.

 

How will we reach another ice age when the ice caps are melting? i dont follow, sorry

I don't think we'll have another ice age but we'll have waaaay higher sea levels. Think about it, when you melt ice, it turns into a little bit of water. So if you melt the North and South Pole ice, it will raise the water. Thus raising the water, gives humans less land to live on.

 

how about this

more warmth -> more evaporation

more evapoartion -> more percipitation

more percipitation -> more snow in polar caps

more snow in polar caps -> bigger ice caps

 

I saw something on TV about a major ocean current at the North Pole which provided warm water to keep the climate/temperatures there the same. Scientists believe that when the caps melt, it will disrupt this flow, preventing the warm water from reaching that area, which then extends to the rest of the seas, and will cause the overall temperature of that area and the majority of the globe to drop in temperature, significantly so to the point that most of the globe will be in a below freezing temperature. By doing that I'm assuming more of the sea will freeze, causing more ice/iceburgs, and from there will cause even more places to freeze. But who knows, it's all out there.

My uncle believes that global warming is a natural thing, much as we go through a trophical phase which lasts for millions of years, thousands, whatever, we also go through our ice age phases. Like when the dinosaurs were here, obviously not everything was frozen or else the dinosaurs, reptiles, could not have survived. Then we had an ice age where mammoths and other creatures survived, and look now, we're back to a mild climate. Of course, what we're doing could be causing this next phase to speed up, but I don't think we can honestly, permanently affect the world in a drastic, negative manner.

 

Agree 110%. Warming/cooling down is a natural process.

 

I think it's real, I mean do you really think thousands of scientist's around the world would lie?

hmm... the problem with that arguement is the timescale.
if you say that the warming/cooling down process is natural, then explain this:
its been 10k years since the last ice age. in that last ice age, the temp rose at a rate of about 4*C per 1000 years(actually closer to 3*) which is about 0.004*c per year.
in the past 10 years, the temp has risen 2* which is about 0.2*c per year
what accounts for this 200x speeding up of the warming process?

 

I agree 150%, because the earth is so powerfull that we as a species are only hurting ourselves by speeding up this process, because we wont survive. although the earth will eventually heal and destory the material that we buried and wasted and polluted. It will take a while and we will die off from it first before it will happen. But I will die long before this can effect me. LOL, I am gonna laugh at my kids.

I read somewhere, that 50 years ago they predicted it'd get hotter 50 years in the future, then reverse again, or something weird like that. either way my opinion on global warming is it's not real

 

I think global warming is real. we have to stop it!!!

Global warming is all that the liberals have to use against us to achieve their common goal of communism. Just spend some time on Google, what seems logical and what IS logical are 2 totally different things. GW has been disproved on multiple occasions.

 

Global warming is pretty much established. The rest of the world is on it.

Of course there are petty conservatives who don't give a damn about the environment.
