How do you burn a Video to a DVD

I have NERO burning software and i just downloaded a movie (bourne ultamatum ).

And its file format is .avi. so how do i convert it to a dvd file to burn?

I've never burnt a dvd before so all help is appreciated.

 

well first of all u need a dvd burner, normal cd burner wont work. with nero there should be an option to burn movies to dvd.

 

try nero, and just google it,

most programs will convert it for you.

Did you have nero vision in it? If you want to make it easy, you burn it with nero vision.
It will ask you the path to the movie or you just drag the movie file on the window.
Now just press next, now you can design your Dvd menu.
Last just press Burn, as simple as that. The software will convert it for you.
Also, if you have nero CoverDesigner you can design covers and a picture for your CD.

I myself copy my movies to my ipod. If your versoin of nero doesn't work I recommend googleing "avi to dvd" and looking at some software.

 

Use Xilisoft Avi to DVD converter. You will need to find a serial, which isn't that hard.

 

If your needing to buy a new burner get a iomega, can burn cd's and dvd's quick

 

I have a dvd burner
and i THINK i have nero vision ill have a look

 

All you need to do is just drag the file onto the drive letter.

 

User Nero 7 Ultra Edition.

Xilisoft I have used before and it has SHIT for DVD quality.

your dvd will be blocky.

Nero 7 ultra has the best quality ive ever seen.

Also just add the avi to your dvd video maker. Click burn and it does it all within 30 minutes.

I have a 62inch TV and with nero 7 the movie looks great!

sorry about before I tryed to help but for future use, use ConvertXtodvd it's really easy to use.. you just find the file, it converts any format to dvd, and it burns it automaticly.

If you still want to use nero(which you probably will.) www.afterdawn.com is really good if you have problems..

 

Well if you have a good DVD it should support the codec and I think you just have to burn it straight to the DVD.

 

Well heres a method that I know %100 works. I know you might find guides that require a crap load of programs. But mine only require 2. what a coincidence i was actually gonna make a thread how to do so. so download avi2dvd here http://www.trustfm.net/divx/SoftwareAvi2DvdDownload.html and download dvd decrypter here. http://www.mrbass.org/dvdrip/SetupDVDDecrypter_3.5.4.0.exe
when avi2dvd installs open it. you will see a screen like click on load avi. go to your avi movie. it might take a while then it should automatically adjust to the movie, settingswise.
k now change the output directory.

on the encoders section, set it like above. Click add job on the bottom, then click go!!
It will take a while, so do it over night. Once the job finishes. You will receive an iso file and some other shit. All you need is the ISO file. Run DVD Decrypter.
On the top bar, click mode > iso > write .
Select your ISO file by clicking the folder. Insert your DVD-R cd and press the green play button :].

 

alright i had the same problem as covey, but what program provides the best quality?

 

follow my guide above, as far as i know. it keeps the quality. it takes a bit of time, but if you want quality, you gotta give up time. just do it while you sleep, the burn process is like 10 mins, do that when you wake up while your eating your lucky charms in the morning.

 

Convert X to DVD program has worked very well for me, i usualy burn tv series onto DVD-RW then tape over em when im done watching, its pretty easy to use and u can make customized menus and stuff

 

You need the program "ConvertXToDVD", it's what i've used for tons of films
