Looking through the archives and a few recent suggestions, I've noticed people continue to disregard the "DNS" list.
I'm not sure if this is already in place but, it should be if it isn't.

Basically the DNS list = Part of the rules.
If you suggest something on there I think you should get an infraction.

Pros: Will prevent people from posting the same threads that get denied every time from continuing to pop up.
Which means eventually a LOT less work for staff.

Cons: People may have extremely good points about a certain topic even though it might be on the DNS list.

^ Even then, I'm sure if it's a big deal they'll risk the chance of an infraction.

Yah. I agree that infractions should be given. The DNS list is there for a reason after all.. and I can't see any administrator budging on it even if someone were to make an argument.

It is considered 'ignoring the stickies' to suggest something on the DNS list, so mods are technically supposed to infract for it.

Hmm, Maybe make it more clear that if you post something on there that you will be infracted? Obviously mods aren't infracting people for it if people are continually doing it.

    Thanks for posting above 2.

The problem with issuing an infraction is that usually people won't know that someone else has been issued one. Obviously most people are too hasty to read the stickies, so they need to make the mistake at least once in order to learn the rules. That's why we see so many DNS suggestions.

The means of fixing this problem are much more elusive. We can't control everybody; we can only fairly provide the rules and expect them to be followed. I can't really think of a way of making the DNS list more easy to read or access.

Im not sure if this vBulletin supports it, but theres a modification to stop users being able to view or post in a section before reading a certain thread, would be cool to have.

    A suggestion:

As suggested/highlighted before, have a forced 'pop-up' for new users of the website of the Official Sythe Rules thread.

That way many problems should/could be avoided.

OT: No, I do not support this.

This is simply identical to when before disregarded the price check stickies before the Price Check section was introduced.

They were never infracted, instead users reported the topic which they created for their own personal price check and the thread was either removed or locked.

    A suggestion:

So you don't support following the rules/stickies?
A "Do not suggest" list is much different than a "Price check" thread.

You don't think people should follow the rules, and if they don't they can get away with it? Nice logic.
