Racism behind the keyboard

I wonder why whenever I go on any popular website, for example Youtube, Runescape, or when I play on Battle.net... there is so, so, so much useless racism.

Example.
I was about to play a game of DotA, on Warcraft III Frozen Throne. DotA stands for Defense of the Ancients for those who do not know. It is one of the most popular custom games ever made. But back to the point, as I joined the game... four different people were just simply talking about how much they hated n***ers. I put those astericks there btw =). Why??? This is not a solitary incident, and I am positive that everyone who has either been on Battle.net or any other big game or has ever read the comments on some videos on Youtube knows what I am talking about.

What causes this racism..? I am a black male, and I have never had anyone, anyone call me a n***er to my face. But when I see these people behind the keyboard just throw it out there like it is some sort of greeting... it troubles me. Very much.

Truthfully, I am dumbfounded... but maybe there is something I am missing. Help me see the light. Post away.

 

A lot of the people I know, online and offline, are generally racist. This could be because I live in Arkansas though. Its a lot easier to call someone a nigger over a Youtube comment than to their face. The guys are just little pussies if you ask me. If they have a real problem with someone because of their race, then they need to just stay in their house and not interact with society.

 

I see racism everywhere too. Especially on popular game sites, Youtube, and other websites where people can post freely. It's usually something where someone calls someone else the N word, and then it just becomes a flame fest...eventually they also ending up talking about how they hate other races.
And yes, like dpunk said, it's easier to be racist on the net, then to actually meet IRL.

It's hard to live with, but it's there.

 

There are a lot of fake racists, and a lot of real racists. Ill call you a nigger on the computer, and a nigger to your face.

 

I actually haven't seen any racism in the game of Runescape so far. I only think that people say it online just because they can't say it to your face in real life.

 

Why? I doubt that you ever have or ever will if you want to stay healthy, but still the question remains: Why?

This is sort of off topic, but I'll address that. Racism is racism. Regardless of what race receives the flame. Racists can take the shape of T4ank, or they can take the shape of my great uncle. I do not get offended when i see someone call someone a cracker on Youtube comments, etc. I get ashamed. To me, racists are foolish, and to see a black person be so foolish gives a bad name to our race.

When i see people like T4ank on forums, I just laugh. Talk alot of shit over the internet in hopes of sounding big and bad. By the way, screw your infraction T4ank. Noone is reporting you on this thread, say whatever shit you what about my race-it really makes no difference to me, it just shows that you are extremely ignorant.

But so far, to get back on topic, I have gathered this from my question.
Why?

1. bit of racism kept up inside
2. afraid to let it out in public


Now here is the only other question... this is going to come across incredibly blunt, and I am sorry in advance to any people I offend.

Why do white people call other white people niggas???

 

Often people associate "Niggas" with gangsters and for some dumb shit reason everyone wants to be a gangster these days...

Calling black people monkies will get you alot more than an infraction, if you cant pretend to be tolerant on here, you're not welcome back. Its not bad to say nigger when you are discussing racism, but calling someone a nigger will earn you an infraction, more extreme racism like calling blacks monkies will earn you a large temporary ban.

Dude get over it, it happens to everybody. they may have been talking about black people there, but cmon you never made a racist comment to some white kid when he was stomping you in the game or teaming you etc. it happens get over it and let the world keep spinning, if you get that upset over every little thing that happens on the net or in life for that matter then your life wont be going anywhere fast.

 

I know that in my country there are manny niggers, italian, marrokan and turkish people, however I only have problems with the marokan and turkish ppl because they multiply like rabbits and they're always looking for a fight.

but on topic, I have no problem with niggers or such in their own country and I don't express that thru internet either
