Guide on stopping eating finger nails

When I was 7 my brother started eating finger nails, I started it too. He stopped eating when he was 11 (1 year later). It started simple, but it got worse and worse. I myself wanted to stop, but its not easy.

Items needed:
a bag of Bubblegum (sugar free)
A pair of Gloves
Tape
Wanting to stop.

1. Having an accident (optional & preferred):Have your friend push your fingers untill you scream. Tell your mom you tripped and fell on your fingers. Youll have a cast for 2-3 weeks. I had it for 3 weeks.
After 3 weeks, youll have to resist the pain of not eating your finger nails. After another week, you should bite them not enough to break them.

2. A) Gloves: Wear a pair of gloves, do not take them off. Do not think of taking them off.

2. B) Tape: Put tape around your nails. Do not take it off. And do not think of taking them off.

3. Bubble gum: Buy a bag of bubble gum, Sugar free. Take around 5 or 6 everywhere you go. And eat them where ever you are.

A good guide. I have a major addiction to eating finger nails. Well I don't really 'eat' them, but I just bite them off. In addition, I have a major skin ripping/biting problem. If you look at the skin on my fingers around the nails, you will literally throw up. This guide could help me out for sure. 8/10

Lol, I also bite my finger nails off, which means I have horrible nails. I like the gloves part, but I don't think the bubble gum would work for me.

Really dont like this guide, grammar in the title is even wrong.

Nail biting is a habit, not an addiction.

Chewing bubble gum constantly will rot your teeth out fast, try sugar free.

Limiting yourself sounds very stupid... as people can just chew on one nail for a long time, this isnt smoking or cocaine its calcium DRINK MILK.

 

this rises along with the addiction of picking your nose - if you dont stop, you'll never stop.

 

nice guide....think ill do bouble gum...im not mj so no gloves plz, and tape is just well.....a little gay, y dfoes gum have to be sugar free

i guess the not wanting to bite your nails anymore would be enough on its own. worked for me.

 

i got a big problem with biting nails but i tried the bubble gum before and it helps a lot!!! the gloves sound ok too but im not to keen on breaking my hole nail off 10/10

 

Erm this could be the same for suckign your fingers anyways when I was 4 my mum put chilli on my fingers when I was sleeping it did the trick instantly.

 

An all round OK guide. Quite short, but straight to the point.

 

I was eatting my nails too, took me a while to stop, they were ugly after beeing aten.

Just realize you are eatting them and stop, thats what I did.

Hmm, I guess if your habit becomes an addiction...this could work...sort of...but who the fuck would sacrifice 2 weeks of their lives to stop biting their nails? I mean, 2/3 weeks of no sports? And no jacking off? :O

And you'd need a cast on each hand, wouldn't you?

Other two methods are pretty good. One more you could add:
Dip your nails in HOT sauce. I don't mean like salsa. I mean like HOT, DISGUSTING sauce. When you subconsciously go to bite your nails, you get the taste of the hot sauce, and your brain remembers that as a reaction to biting your nails.

Still, 7/10.

lol so do i my bro used to bite his nails and pencils and stuffs, dad put hot sauce on some items till he stopped
