DVI to HDMI cable+DVI M to F+F Question

    WELL yea.

I have a computer and a hd TV. I am wanting to be able to have my computer in full HD viewing on my TV while having my current monitor fully functional. So I plan on getting a DVI to HDMI cable and a DVI Male to Female+Female splitter. So I dont have to keep unhooking and rehooking cables every time I wanna view my computer differently. But im not sure if the DVI cable splitter will still show HD with the DVI to HDMI cable.

So yea...anyone care to clear it up for me? I am not real sure if I am able to do this with HD...dont want to buy 2 things from online that I probably wont be able to return to get my cash back since im getting it from Office Depots online store...and their return policies are really strict...

DVI to HDMI cable+DVI M to F+F Question

If your graphics card is powerful enough to run a screen in 1080p and another in whatever resolution your using for it, then yes, It should work. Assuming you have the correct connections.

DVI to HDMI cable+DVI M to F+F Question

Most graphics cards capable of running a 1080p screen will have two dvi outputs.

For one of the outputs you can get a dvi to hdmi cable and hook up to your tv.

For the other, just hook on your dmi monitor, or get a dmi to vga converter.

    If you have only one,

You will need a Y cable that can split the signal, and then a hdmi cable.

DVI to HDMI cable+DVI M to F+F Question

    Yea im aware of that

Anyways someone told me something that makes sense. Not 100% sure...BUT yea. He said if I switch my output from the current non hd signal to a hd signal then i wont be able to watch it on my computer monitor as well since its not HD.

So yea...decided against it. Might just get a basic dvi splitter and a 15 foot dvi/monitor cable since my TV has a pc input plug as well. So yea meh...depends on how big my next pay check is.
