PS2 Case Mod

Ok i am planning to mod my ps2 in many ways. Ima list what i am going to do then i would like some people to comment on what im planning and if you have any advice post!
1.paint the case (red) a couple thin layers of red then a couple layers of clear coat.
2.Cut out a square where the cd is and put plexi glass in there (so you can see the cd (see number 3)
3.Cut out half squares around the inner cd cover. (if you've ever opened a ps2 the thing that covers the cd and is covered in squares.)
4.a square box over the heatsink and install a fan in the middle of the plexi glass
5.install a row of red LEDs behind the grill.
6. the fan and the LEDs will be sodered to the motherboard

 

ok sounds cool, but why a ps2? It would be cooler if it were a next gen system.

 

Sounds awsome to be honest. But really, why the ps2? Why not do it to something newer?

 

Are you sure you want to go through this? Do you have any experience doing this type of case modding to anything? You might want to get familiar on how to do this instead of just breaking your PS2.

 

I have over 5 guides on how to do this bookmarked and i know a forum that is all about modding/case modding ps2s so i think i can pull it off all it is, is a little paint, soddering, and gluing?

kk ill have the money in about a week the it might take a week to gather up supplies and then another week to start and finish it maybe more ima take pics/movies and make a guide.

 

Have fun, should look pretty nice. I would have left it black if i were modding it, black with red LEDs looks better. If you are gonna put glass so you can see the CD, why not put a couple LEDs in there too?

 

yea i might consider that since im no good with spary paint. and i planned on puttin them in the case.

Ive wanted to do this for a while...but i have a silver ps2 and i want it black with red or deep blue LED's and somehow cut out parts of the p33s2 and put plexi glass on it, oh well good luck should be sweet lookin

Man, I remember when I had my PS2.

First version, fat and new. Got it, $100. Lol, I was trying to hack the Lazer so I can play burned games. But I found out my controller slot and memory card slot detached (silly me!). Well, go for it dude. Just don't go nuts.

 

Use primer, sand it, and then spray paint, not normal paint, if you have any brains.
