Need MSN help!

Well I have this problem, no idea to what is it. I try to sign into MSN, and it takes about 1-2 minutes then says this:


I click troubleshoot, then get this:


Click repair and get this:


I googled the error 80031516136t whatever it was, tired a few of the things and nothing worked. Can someone please help me?

 

Is it the newest version? try reinstalling msn then reseting your router.

 

Also, I go and download msn, but it wont open up the installer? :\

 

Try switching off your firewall.

 

Mine was doing this earlier today, but i restarted my computer and it worked fine.

 

Firewall off; nothing.
Reset my computer thousands of times.

 

Completely remove all the messenger files (deleting WL messenger) and reinstalling it.

 

I cant because if I do that I won't even be able to install it. Once I download msn the installer won't even pop up.

This will completely remove all WL messenger remnant files and everything associated with WL, after running this try re installing again.

 

I used the zap thing, it un-installed it but I download msn and still the installer wont open after I download it?

And if i try to show in folder i get this: C:\Documents and Settings\Winsuer\My Documents\Downloads\wlsetup-web.exe is not a vaild win32 application. ?

 

Ok, do you mind trying other instant messengers clients instead of the actual Windows Live Messenger? There's Pidgin and Trillian that you could try.

I've only used Pidgin and never used Trillian, but I hear good things about Trillian.

Downloaded and got application not found, re installed and same thing. what else could go wrong.. :/

 

Your computer is blocking the port settings that messengers use (so trillian/pidgon wont work) . You can look up a guide on it or I could help you threw teamviewer come time (to hard to explain over msn). Shoot me a pm if you my help.

 

Disable your Firewall and reset your router. (hold the reset button with a pencil for 30 seconds)

 

My laptop has this problem so i use meebo as an alternative there.
I would however love to have people continue contributing. So maybe my msn will work again too.

 

Still need advice, cannot get it to work yet. I'm going to try and just reboot my hole computer.

 

It might be a little late to suggest this, but did you attempt a System Restore to before your MSN started messing up? That might be able to fix any problems. I was going to suggest that your MSN had been frozen until I remembered it says incorrect password.

You could also try contacting Microsoft to see if they know anything about the situation.
