Ratings, what's the point of them? Can any of you actually tell me 100% truthfully that they help you improve on graphics? What is so special about a rating that makes it worth more then CnC (Comments 'n' Critisism).

A rating is such a pointless thing, uneeded in GFX. Who cares if someone with absolutely no skill comes into the forum, and says "10/10" for something that has so many flaws. Can that rating tell you what needs to be improved? the problems? of course not, it's just a useless number that is open to such interpretation.

What might look good in one person's eyes, might look butt ugly in anothers, but this is limited when it comes to CnC. In CnC a person has to look at all the aspects of the sig, everything i've explaiend before here and this way the creator can look at the opinions of alot of people and see what over-all he or she needs to improve upon.

Please stop being ignorant morons and stop asking for ratings, and start demanding CnC, you will improve greatly!

 

I pointed this out already in my thread, except no mumbo jumbo about ratings being just numbers .

So basically nobody is going to improve without real supportive feedback

 

Exactly that is why I would like everyone to pm me to crap posts that just say "10/10" "I wish I could do that" "GOOD JOB" etc. so I can infract.

I recently posted a thread with the exact "rate my sig" and i have also noticed that i have gained no knowledge from the replies. One of them even gave me 10/10 (There is no such thing as a perfect sig) and even if they told me what was wrong it was hard to fix because i never new in the first place. Could it be possible to make add to the rules something that says give helpful replies because ppl are talking about random things they do not even understand.

well if its the thread about your warrock sig, The guy basically was there to spam he knew nothing about signatures.

Please change the title, its really (for want of a better word) noobish.

But i aggree, ratings are nothing, constructive critisism is whats needed. Such as "Add more lighting so it stands out". Or point out any errors.

10/10 is just a idiots way of raising post count.

 

Hmm well that's just something to grab attention really, not like some guide line as you appear to be interpreting it as. Rating sigs and criticism is all and good but some dedicated GFX forums have people that suck worse then sythe.org's, thankfully those sites usually die off :3

The point I want to make is that they should be able to get criticism to get better here, in a GFX section, just as they can somewhere else. Just because the site is dedicated to gaming doesn't mean we should all run about praising the ground of people who found abstract brush packs on DA and spent 5 seconds brushing with a slapped on hentaish render just because most other gaming forums with GFX sections do that.
