Oakland Raiders Fans: Culpepper in '08

Daunte only signed a one-year deal. So, if he continues playing well, what do you do with him next year?



You signed him when nobody else wanted him. You brought him into your organization and allowed him to continue rehabbing while you taught him your system. Then you allow him to showcase his talent on the field and demonstrate for the rest of the league that his knee is, in fact, ok. What it boils down to is that you've helped this guy make a lot of money.



Everyone knows that JaMarcus Russell is waiting in the wings and is the future of this franchise. Obviously, the Raiders won't lock Pep up long-term and can't have too much money tied up at the QB position. But after the opportunity you gave him, do you allow him to just walk away next year and get nothing in return?



Do you keep him for one more year and allow him to continue mentoring Russell if the rook isn't able to take over this year? Or, can you say...sign and trade in '08? We've seen QBs with far less talent get traded for first rounders, haven't we?
