Well, It seems that whenever someone is "Quitting" runescape, and requests RSGP people ALWAYS post something like this:
RSGP is one of the safest, and easiest ways to trade currency, and avoid chargebacks.

Yes, It does seem odd, but who are you to question someones trustworthyness, and potentially scare off their customers.
It's a hastle to have to find someone to buy your account, if more trusted people are just going to go around doing this for PC.

Anyways, Just think staff should make this against rule or something...

It doesn't hurt to be cautious, reason why people get scammed is because they aren't cautious enough.

Fair enough when he said "sounds like a scam tbh...", maybe that can be disregarded. But asking a geniune question in regards to what sounds like contradiction surely can't be seen as spam.

    You gotta ask though...

Why would he accept swaps? Those are definitely some of the riskiest trades.
As for RSGP, isn't it possible he'll just run off with the money and recover? Definitely.

Yes, I see your point. I would always like to say that... People saying this, are greatly decreasing the chances for LEGIT sellers to find LEGIT buyers.

Assuming he's a legit trader, he would provide all information for the account.

I'm saying that RSGP is more safe for the seller.

I'm more looking out for the sellers here, yes.. they have the potential to scam.. But RSGP trades are far more safe, and don't have any fees.

Instead of just looking out for sellers, I suggest you look out for the buyers as well. Because buyers want to be safe too.

Well quitting runescape then taking runescape currency for the account does seem fishy, i was scammed 200m for a maxed account like 3 months ago and learnt the hard way, i promised to never by another account again, and only tonight i tried again for a 2 letter name and got the name switched on me , before i could trade it.

All learning curbs, im just glad i haven't got scammed alot like others have, i personally think if they are quitting RS and the picture of the account is at duel arena bank, i would steer clear from it unless a highly trusted person was selling it.

Made me lol :D so very true,

In any case, Lemon Phat, you're right it is irritating and it's a safer way for the seller to go, but then the simple answer you've given should suffice.

More often than not it is an indication of a bad trade, especially if it is a swap considering it's not only risky but it's also taking more time. Rather have people ask and you answer by saying "I want to resell the gold so I can secure my funds, rather than selling the account immediately".

Simple and not much fuss. I'm sure a decent answer to the question wouldn't deter any possible buyers.

I would do the same, selling my accounts for RSGP and reselling the gold to a trusted gold buyer.

Why not? I have my own RS account shop (buying), I don't consider RSGP as my payment due to it just makes it fishy. If you are planning to quit RS or have quit, why ask RSGP as payment.

Also, lately I have seen people use "want to make a pure... I need rsgp" as an excuse when they are selling their main/skiller accounts. In my opinion, people say that to scam.

But, this whole thing is completely different, if it is a trusted user.

People are just being curious and/or safe.
As accounts can always be recovered(always)
    Paypal can aswell.
    Rsgp cannot.

I buy your account for paypal, you recover account. I'll recover paypal.
I buy your account for rsgp, you recover account. I am fucked.

It's a possible scam way, or just a possible way to be safe.

You can report for spam as well, I believe.

Edit; also, taking RSGP is much safer, because you can sell the RSGP to a trusted seller here, hassle free.

Unless its a staff member posting something, then anything that is off topic or not an offer or inquiry about the sale itself, then it is considered spam. Just report it.

Gotta sell the RSGP off with a payment method regardless. Why not accept those too?

Because, generally, when people sell accounts they have less vouches/are less trusted. That generally attracts scammers, and if they recovered the PayPal cash - then you could be in some trouble if you didn't have any recoveries on, as is customary (for some peculiar reason).

If however, you sold your account for RSGP - which is not recoverable - then you could sell the RSGP to someone, such as yourself, and be.. well, not at less risk, but be more self-assured that it's less likely you will be scammed.

its already a rule, called spam.
For everyone who says it's fishy to accept rsgp after they quit, you are not intelligent. People accept rsgp because it is irreversible. Nobody can backcharge it.
With the rsgp, you sell it to someone trusted, like Viou.

I saw that yesterday. I dont know why someone would even question that. RSGP is easy to sell and theres no way of getting charged back if you sell to someone trusted.

I'm unaware of any people who are considered "trusted" to be buying accounts daily, and merchant them.

Tons of trusted people do gold merchant.

Much easier to sell your account for rsgp, unless you sell to a trusted person(which is very rare to find,) then sell the rsgp to a trusted person.
