building pc for my dad, need help on parts.

So a while back i built my own gaming pc, after seeing my succes i am building my father a pc. we have monitor/keyboard/mouse/speakers/optical drive. He wants to be able to do some video editing on it, but besides that it will mainly be for browsing web/ videos.here is what i am looking at

    cpu

motherboard: do not know yet, recommendations?

    psu

    case

    ram

i am going to take hdd at of his current comp and put it in the new and probably buy another one to go along with it., current hdd uses sata but the optical and floppy drive use ribbon.so i will have 2 ribbons.
i am looking to keep the total cost below $450( i do not think i will need windows, seeing as how i will be using old hdd), i still need to pick out mother board and hard drive, the cpu i picked has on board graphics, so the mobo needs to support that, also do you think the buit in grahics will be good for vid editing or should i spring for a dedicated? thoughts on mobo options?

If you are using the integrated graphics on the I3, you definately do not need a 550W psu, a little 300-350W would suffice if you want to save $20 on that.

Next, the case and ram look alright, I never understood spending more than $50 on a case.

That is a good Motherboard, I am actually using it now on my computer, and I recommend it.

As for the HDD, if you already have one, I would spring for a SSD as a secondary, they really speed things up, and now adays can be had at a moderate price.

As for the GPU, depending on the intensity of the video editing, yes you probably should get a dedicated graphics card. As for which one, I am sorry to say I can not help you there, as I know little to nothing about professional graphics cards for video editing/Graphics editing.
