    Worth getting additional ram?

    So im on 6gb ram, in need of more(like 6 more) but i don't know if my pc can hold that much(dunno what im talking about i just heard about it) so yeah. DDR3 1333Mhz.

    Worth getting additional ram?

    What OS are you on? Also is it 32bit or 64bit? As if you are on 32bit then you will be getting a limted amount of RAM whereas 64bit supports much more.

    Post your motherboard model, and then you can find out how much RAM it can take. For now, I'd say just close programs your not using to free up space.

    You need 64 bit Windows in order to run more than 3.5GB RAM, just FYI.

    Otherwise, I would say check either your motherboard manual or the manual/specification sheet that came with your PC/motherboard to see what the max supported RAM is. Also, check to make sure you have free slots on the motherboard. Most standard ATX motherboards have 4 slots for RAM, unless it's one of the older Intel boards in which case it might have 6. Smaller boards like mATX and mini ITX boards usually have 2 slots, but occasionally you'll see 4.
