Building a computer? Get a parts list here!

Since I've seen some threads from people looking to build a computer, I have decided to help out anyone that needs it. If you are building a computer, but do not know what parts to get for it, just post the following here and I will give you a parts list tailored just for your needs:

*Budget - How much money do you have to spend?
*Re-usable parts - Do you have a working monitor, keyboard, mouse, or anything else that you can use to save some money?
*Use - What will this computer be used for? Gaming? Video editing? Graphics work? Web browsing?
*Requests - Do you want a nice 23" monitor? A super-fast SSD? Bluray player?

Alright man start out with this:

    Laptop

    Budget isn't a concern.

    1 TB+ HD 10k RPM if possible
    4 GB+ Ram Required
No special video card but mid grade will be fine
    High end processor
Must be a 17+ inch monitor and would like to explore the idea of touchscreen.

Just using as my home/work laptop for the next 3 - 4 years. I will put it together myself also.

It really is not possible for someone to build a laptop for themselves. Outside buying a barebones kit (a laptop without ram and a hard drive) there is really no option for you to be able to build your own.

However, if you would like I could find you a good laptop to purchase. I'm pretty good at that as well.

    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16834220737

Happens to be the highest rated gaming laptop as reviewed by ComputerShopper, if you want to read the review you can find it here

If I could afford it I'd buy that in an instant. Hell, I'm almost considering selling a kidney...

Do you need a monitor? If you do, you won't be able to get much at all if you buy new. The best option would be to go through ebay. If you don't, I can still try and find you a set that would work for $400.

    Best computer ever? Can do.

Motherboard: EVGA Classified SR-2 Dual Processor Motherboard - $599

    Processor: 2x Intel i7 980X - $999 ea

    Ram: 2x Hex Channel Kits (6x4GB) - total of 48GB Ram - $1,160 ea

    SSD (Boot): 2x Corsair 256GB SSD - $720 ea

    SSD (Data): OCZ 1TB SSD - $3,200

Graphics: 4x MSI GTX 480 Quad SLI - $500 ea

    Power: 2x Silverstone 1500W 80 Plus Silver Certified Powersupplies - $380 ea

Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster X-Fi Titanium Fatal1ty Champion Series - $150

    Monitor (main): LG 30" 2560 x 1600 Monitor - $1,159

    Monitors (auxiliary): 2x Acer 23" 1920 x 1080 Touch-Capable LCD Monitor - $379 ea

    Drive: Pioneer Blu-Ray Burner - $185

    Keyboard: Optimus Maximus - $2,400

    Mouse: Razer Mamba - $130

    Total: ~$15,000 base; ~$17,500 w/keyboard.

Of course, you'd DEFINITELY need a water cooling setup which would bring the price up more. Plus you'd need to find a case that can fit all of this in it. It also goes without saying that were I to actually build this, I'd go over every part a lot more than I have to make damn sure everything will work.

Dunno about the DVR (I think that is what you were talking about) but otherwise this should fit the bill:

    Motherboard

    Processor

    Graphics Card

    Memory

    Case

    Power Supply

    Hard Drive

    Monitor

    DVD Burner

Total cost $1339.88. As always, the operating system is not included. If you want to spend a little bit more, I can suggest a couple upgrades you may wish to consider.
