Brotha_Verac's Dagannoth Rex Guide

Hey everyone, this is my first boss hunting guide and if your methods of killing them are different then I don't really care, I'm just showing off my way.

Some Knowledge of killing bosses

I am in the clanchat called "Burstinglobs"
They are based around Dagganoth kings and rock lobsters and offer assistance such as blessing your grave and finding a partner to open the door


Gear + Inventory:

11 Super restores, 12 Saradomin brews, 2 Antipoison ++, Spell Runes, Camelot Tablet (1 click teleport)

Obviously, if you don't have some of the best gear like I do, it can be substituted.

Arcane Necklace > Fury > Zammy/Sara/Guthix Stole > Glory
Verac's Helmet > Torag's Helmet
Torag's/Guthan's/Dharok's Platebody > Bandos Chestplate > Verac's Brassard
Verac's skirt > Torag's/Dharok's/Guthan's Legs > Bandos tassets
Infinity Boots > Wizard Boots > Dragon Boots
Seers ring (i) > Seer's Ring > Beacon Ring(+2 mage) > Archer's ring(+4 range)
Barrow gloves > Dragon Gloves > Regen Bracelet > Combat bracelet
Zammy / Sara / Guthix mage cape > Firecape > God Prayer cape
Elysian / Arcane Spirit shield > Blessed spirit shield > Granite shield
Your staff should be dependant on what spell you use, personally Claws of Guthix is the best if you have the void knight staff to go with it.

Slayer Dart is cheap and effective, so that's what i'm using.
The inventory should pretty much be the same no matter what level you are,
I am casting Slayer Dart's which require 55 slayer and 50 magic.


Where to go:

Travel to waterbirth island by talking to some guy called Jarvald.
If this is your first time travelling with him, I think he charges 1k cash

Once you get to Waterbirth, travel past the rock crabs until you find a cave entrance. This is where you meet up with somebody else to open up the doors. If this is your first time, just stand back and follow the other person, they know what they're doing.

Running through the floors:
I cannot post all the pictures of the floors or prayers of what to pray but I have memorized what prayers to pray:
Once your partner opens the door blocks with his rune throwing axes
Go down the ladder while praying mage
then range
then meele
then range
then mage
then mage
then mage
then meele
then range
then range
then meele
and you should be at rock lobsters now

Once you're ready - go past all the rock lobsters and other monsters and you will see a ladder entrance. And now you're finally at the Dag kings.
Before you go down the ladder, pray mage and then if the mage isn't on you, then pray range because dagganoth surpreme will probably start attacking you.

Immediately run south and head east while all the way south to avoid dagannoth prime (The mage)

Once you get all the way east, you will do something called "X-logging" While praying range. Basically, you just close down the internet browser that the game is running on and this forcefully logs your character out
You can log back in now and I would recommend praying mage

And from this point on, the only thing that should damage you are the level 76 Spinoylp's

Luring:
Start off attacking rex far from where he spawns. (He spawns in the middle south)
Then run to where I am:


After you hit him twice with the spell, run here


Since you know how to lure rex and the safe spot, now all you have to do is just kill him and enjoy the loot!

What to do if you get crashed:
The best thing you can try to do is lure the mage on them since (if you follow my guide) the mage should already be on you. In an attempt to get them killed. It's up to you if you want to bless their grave ( I do )
Or look them up and see if their magic is higher. If your's is lower, I would recommend just x logging and finding a different world.

I can't find a world!?!?!?
First, do not ever do lootshare worlds if you're solo'ing. Most of the time somebody will be there.
Go for lower populated worlds. If that doesn't work. Try a PvP world like I have shown in one of my loot pictures. I have never seen anybody there, but this is very dangerous, if you die, you will have no way to get your items back.
If that doesn't work. Try going to the runescape home page and going to a foreign server.

Possible F.A.Q's
How much mage exp do you get:
I usually get around 40k exp per trip along with 15 - 20k constitution exp

How long does a trip last:
A trip usually lasts me 90 minutes or so

How many kills per trip:
I always get 16 - 20 no matter what.

What's the drop rate of the good stuff:
There's no real answer to that, but in my experience, it seems like
B rings are 1/100
Warrior rings are 1/150
Dragon Hatchets are 1/150

Does ring of wealth help:
Nope

Good job, and id like to add that bringing familiar is really good, tortoise>titan>uni>pack yak. With yak you can last really long and gather all the bones/hides in your bank

Alright, then I guess I'll have to say something constructive if you want to be an ass because I stated the obvious.

You may want to create a new guide entirely. Magic dart does not work anymore, as it takes a long time to kill rex, and anybody will jump at the chance to crash you, as dks are becoming more popular. The best, and probably cost efficient as well, since it hits high almost every shot, is surging rex. In order to kill him many more times per trip, you have two options. The first is FULL veracs- the prayer bonus is TOTALLY WORTH IT over a long period of time (and a blessed spirit shield if you have, but granite/obsidian are the second best, I don't like dfs just because it's much more expensive for only a tiny more range bonus than granite/obsidian). The second option is guthans, with a dhide/karils/armadyl top. The verac method I was able to stay for around 50 kills per trip, trips lasted me around 2 hours. For the guthan method, you can pretty much stay all day, but kills are slightly slower as you're wanting to heal as much as possible. The guide is outdated in terms of crashing/anticrashing which is all dks is nowadays- this is why I called it gravedigging.
