Troll bar, please read

My suggestion, to reduce not only trolling, but spamming in threads, would be to add, possibly under your name in posts, A bar that goes from 0/10.

how the bar works:

If you believe someone is spamming, trolling, or giving a answer completely off the topic, you can report it. (limit to 2 troll reports a day possibly? so mods don't get overflowed in reports) the bar would basically change your rep, player would be less likely to troll, spam, and flame.

punishments:

1/10: Automated warning to the troll.

2/10: 1 hour mute

3/10: 3 hour mute

4/10: 6 hour mute

5/10: 24 hour mute

6/10: 2 day mute

7/10: 7 day mute

8/10: 7 day mute with a warning about being muted for a month

9/10: 30 day mute

10/10: Permanent ban.

Obviously the punishments might not be perfect, and it can be called something besides a "troll bar", maybe a "spamming meter", or "warning bar". However im just throwing in ideas

Please let me know what you think about this. This is not leeched from any other forums, this was made off the spot.

Agreed. Just infract , if they continue , temp ban - even further may lead to a possible Perm.

 

The current infraction system seems to be handling itself well. I say we leave it be.

 

I think the infraction system is fine, i don't see a reason for another system. Also gives mods alot more work.

 

Infraction system is something that should be worked on. people are too easily infracted for posts that do not offend anyone.

just as rs has mutes and bans, sythe can have mutes and bans.

 

Is there really much difference? Mutes just mean you won't have the ability to post. When you're temporarily banned you can't log in however you can browse as a guest. The only differences this would make is you can still check PMs and view Private forums. (Assuming you have access to them in the first place.)

 

They, had this policy on a game I use to play, and it worked wonderful. I think the infractions should stay, but something like this could also be incorporated in sections such as the spam forum, and donor lounge; For example.

 

Can't we already get an infraction for trolling? So 5 troll infraction = a temp ban. So I don't see the need for it.
