    Brexit

I haven't read through the past four pages, I have a feeling it's just a few people bickering and those annoying break down quote responses.

However, I'm curious.. How does the EU create trade barriers? If I've learned anything from EU Law, it's all about the Freedom of Movement, of People and Trade. There is minimal barriers for trading within the EU.

Anyways, considering this is of importance with relations to Brexit; David Cameron resigning by October, Boris Johnson pulling out from the race of going for PM, as Michael Gove back stabs Boris and decides to enter the race. On top of a few other notable Conservatives in attempt for PM. I'm wondering how this is making Brits feel. And if anyone of these people win, I'm hoping for another General Election considering we haven't voted any of these numpties in.

On the other hand we have the Labour Party, many MPs have stated they have want Jeremy Corbyn out, a lot of Chancellors have quit. Basically the Governments are in turmoil over this Brexit vote. If their in turmoil how on earth are Brits meant to benefit from this referendum and leaving the EU.

Furthermore, this referendum vote is all dependent on whether the Government have invoked Article 50. I'm unsure whether the referendum vote itself has triggered this, or if David Camerons talks with European Council has. As of yet we're not out of the EU, and if the Government wanted they wouldn't have to leave, but based on democracy it's going to happen.

To me, leaving the EU still feels like it's going to cause more headache then good. Although has anyone seen the new plans for the pound, Royal Mint is going to make a new £1 coin with 12 sides, and a security feature. I have a feeling this would benefit us in the leave.

The EU imposes taxes and regulations on EU member states, and subsidizes select businesses.

One such regulation I've quoted this thread in the pages you missed:

EU bans claim that water can prevent dehydration

Well like I've said before, if there's anything I'm happy about with UK leaving EU, is because EU law is stupid, hard, and a waste of time.

Reading that Article has given me a headache, all that dehydration.. need some water now.

"The regular consumption of significant amounts of water can reduce the risk of development of dehydration and of concomitant decrease of performance." Is the claim they actually rejected.

I'm British and I voted leave and am very happy with the outcome. I think it's really tragic what's happened to Germany and Sweden with all the migrants and would've hated for it to happen to the us. My father owns a business and he has to deal with stacks and stacks of forms because of EU regulations and it's all pointless bureaucratic stuff.

While it might take a while for the £ to recover, I believe this will overall for be good for us. We've already had some good from it with Cameron stepping down.

We really need to get a good trade deal with the EU now however; if it's something like Switzerland's we should be fine.

    Brexit

Brexit wins with a few % - a tiny "majority"
    Everyone panics
Scotland votes to remain & Nicola Sturgeon kicks off talks for Indy Ref 2
Ireland might be unified and remove itself
    Prime Minister 'resigns'
Opposition party is falling apart so we likely face continual Tory rule until faith and stability is returned to Labour
Likely next candidate for PM resigns after being quite responsible for Brexit campaign
We now get an unelected PM in Autumn from a selection of assholes
There actually is no Brexit plan
Nigel Farrage of UKIP resigns after being largely responsible for the propaganda and fear mongering rhetoric used by Brexit campaign

    Its a mess.

I hope Scotland get their independence referendum v2 now that those who voted to stay in the UK that were told leaving the UK would remove us from Europe have changed their opinions.

Scottish politics are so much more in touch with ordinary people, are very diverse in terms of women, other sexualities etc and even their conservative party is very liberal.

I voted stay and will vote yes to a second Scottish referendum if it happens(which looks likely).

The whole EU is a mess, but if you honestly think that 1 man, Farrage, had such a large impact and that this is not a result of a long list of stupid thing the UK government and the EU has done then you are clearly delusional. Blaming 1 man for brexit is just stupid, it's exactly something a liberal would say. Let's not mention the millions of people who are upset, right?

If UK getting out of the EU is a mess then what do you think Scotland getting out of the UK would look like? Let me tell you, it would most definitely be a much bigger mess. So why are you supporting causing more mess? Liberal double standards much?

How can you even suggest that if UK politicians went against the majority then they would be more in touch with the people? That might make sense to a liberal, but for the rest of us it seems as a stupid statement.

And just to finish. Don't even talk about fear mongering on the leave side. The remain campaign said that this could starting WW III. The real fear mongerers were the remainers, so get your facts straight. Most of the leave camp actualy had facts on why to leave. And guess what, they won, so respect it and stop crying about it. Or do you only like democracy when you are on the winning side?

Don't attack me, you're presuming an awful lot. No need for the hostility!

Farrage isn't solely responsible, no. But he played a huge part, got what he wanted and now he's leaving - same with Boris.

I don't know where I said the UK going against the majority would put them in favour with people? I said Holyrood is more in touch than Westminster.

Sorry, but it sort of pisses me off that the majority voted leave, but there are still so many who actively lobby to remain. It's like people don't understand what's on stake here. It could very possibly lead to democracy being thrown out of the window, which could then lead to a WW. If a majority voted 1 way then it should be respected on both sides and setting up new referendums until you get the wanted numbers only makes us 1 step further from democracy. I'd happily move past democracy, but we are not heading past it, we are being left behind, back to a dictatorship.

    When you said:
It seemed as you were refering to the majority of scots voting to remain and saying that it means the politicans are more in touch with the people. Which is actualy correct since the majority of politicans on both sides are in favour of remaining. And that seemed to me as saying remain = in touch with the people. If that was not your aim, then I'll admit being wrong.

I don't know an awful lot about scots and why they would vote 1 way or another, but to me it seems as the EU is an ever growing clusterfuck of bad decisions and there are solid arguments on why to leave it. With UK leaving the EU I think it's okay to have another referendum in Scotland, but I am positive that leaving the UK would have much harsher consequences than leaving the EU. This is why I don't understand why are you in favour of leaving the UK, but not the EU. It seems as getting back to the rest of the people for them voting to leave, without actualy thinking about the consequences.

No, no - seperate statements :).

Scotland voted to remain and so I support that decision.

The reason why I want to leave the UK now is because Scotland has a tiny voice in Westminster and we will never get the Government it votes for (even if every constituency votes for one party - it doesn't make a huge impact), even less now that Labour has disintegrated and people will have no faith in them to vote for, the Lib Dems are just a weak party and UKIP would cause some kind of war.

For Scotland to get what it votes for the best place for it is in the EU but outside of the UK.

It's sort of funny, but your reason to leave the UK is exactly the same as mine on why to leave the EU. The people that are voted to represent us in the EU have basicly no power at all. All they can say is "yes" or "no" and even that can be bypassed when needed. The way the EU is built makes it anti-democracy. I am not sure if you have looked into how the EU is ran, I tried to make sense of it, but it honestly is a real clusterfuck and it isn't like that by accident.

I realise that but Scotland on it's own having to renegotiate trade deals on its own and be in charge if defence on it's own... being in the EU isn't ideal but it's the best option. Nothing the EU imposes is monstrously terrible. Unlike the Tory Government cutting disabled people's benefits and allowing tax loopholes for the super rich at the same time.

The brexit doesn't really mean shit until they have a proper policy vote in parliament.

It's funny you say that and it's true Labour is falling to pieces with the amount of cabinet quitting. But If you was watching yesterdays night's Question Time George Galloway former Respect Party said Labour has gained 200,000 more members in the last 10 days? Why is that? Why one earth would a broken opposition be reeling in the members. It doesn't make sense to me.

The only thing I can presume as to why this is, because the Government (Cons) is in an absolute shambles more so. I mean c'mon PM resigns, Boris Johnson (as if he was a good shot) was running for PM and backs out because of the other dude who crashed out in the Tory votes. I mean now we have two women going for PM and none of us can decide - we have a choice between dumb (more experienced, wanted to remain) and dumber (no experience, wanted to leave and is against gay rights pretty much). I mean what 160K Tory members will decide? NAH give us another general election, I have a strong feeling Labour would win, I hope they do. Whether they would be good in Government, is another question, but no. No one is currently capable of being our Government. Not with Brexit. Sometimes I just want to tell democracy to eff off. This Brexit has caused tragic amounts of racial hate, a split in United Kingdom, Government and Opposition and all the people who wanted to Leave to eff off.

When I saw Nigel Farrage leaving UKIP the amount of times the words "absolute dickhead" was stated, I wouldn't be surprised if he grew one on his head. How can you create a party to leave EU, and then when all the hard work comes you scurry off to your little hiding place. Pathetic. I feel sorry for the leave voters. They where scare mongered by Boris and Nigel definitely. The main reason for the Leave was immigration, half of England don't even or have never even seen a different coloured person. You had Boris saying Leave, and David Cameron saying Remain. Ex-Mayor v PM? I mean what? Labour and Conservative having complete mixed understanding of methods to tell people to remain. And please don't even talk about Liberal Democrats. Absolute pile of jokers. Not only that, but you have multiple racist political parties, such as Britian First & National Front, to name a few who have had a lot of impact since the start of this whole Brexit Referendum came about 3 years ago and their main arguments are for the Leave vote.

I don't blame you Scottish, leave us, and stay in the EU. Definitely. I wish London could do the same. It's funny, because the most of England where they barely ever see any immigrants want to leave. London the most diverse city of the country wants to stay. It says a lot.

The Euro is failing and has it actually been stated Scotland are going to get into the EU if they leave the UK? Way to split the county up and destroy everything this countries' history stands for because you didn't get the result you wanted.

No but I hope they will and it looks optimistic.

Scotland should stay in a country that doesn't represent it for England's sake even though they shaft us with every decision they make? No, its not the people, but its these "traditions" and big businesses that are allowed to dictate English politics that just doesn't exist here that ruins a united country.

That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard, I voted leave but my whole street voted remain, I want to be able to declare my household an independent state of land as the people around me don't agree with it.

All of Scotland's money comes from Westminster, so if they want to cut themselves off from their money source then so be it. If you have a vote and you lose then that's that, you don't go making petitions asking for a re-vote or threatening to leave and go off on your own because you didn't get your way.

It is called the "United" Kingdom, Scotland already had their referendum in the first place, so they want another because they didn't like the result of the first one? Makes total sense. Think about the General Election last year, the outcome was a Conservative victory. We had riots (although not major ones) in London and around the country, so did those people get another election because they didn't agree with it? No...

If 62% of your street voted for something but didn't get it what would happen then.

Scotland voted on independence on the basis that we were told that if we voted to leave we would have to leave the EU. The UK was the only way we could stay in. Millions voted because of that. Now that we've been dragged out any way, I'd say that's grounds for a re-vote.

Scotland will NEVER get the government it votes for if it stays with England. They are two different countries with different outlooks and different interests. I don't know where this notion comes from that you should just shut up and deal with a certain situation in politics and not speak your opinion just because it once was the unpopular one - we'd make no progress if we all did that. It was once unpopular for women to vote, we didn't say oh well we didn't get what we wanted. We kept pushing. That's what you do when you think something is the right thing to do.
