Xbox One or Ps4?

Going to be getting a Xbox One or Ps4 already have a really good pc rig which I play mostly Battlefield 4 on ultra on it but I was looking to get a console now to do some more casual gaming. Was looking to get a Xbox One for Forza Horizon 2 and Halo but with Ps4 I really don't know what games I would want so what are your opinions?

If you prefer the One's exclusives go for it. I'd say next gen consoles still really aren't worth it though and a 360 would be better but it's up to you.

 

I would choose the console with my friends, cause afterall i'm gonna be playing majorly of the time with them.

 

Xbox one is honestly REALLY glitchy. I have one and relatively often disconnect from live, can't connect to other players, or have it freeze up on me. Have a few friends where these problems also happen so I don't think it's just my One.
When it's not bugging out it works nice and I like it. If you're more of a hardcore gamer I'd go for PS4 though as I feel the One is more of an entertainment system rather than a hardcore gaming system.
Specs are relatively the same on both, so honestly up to you and if you want the exclusives or not.

 

I'm buying the Xbox One soon. As I already have an Xbox 360, I thought it'd be the more beneficial decision to upgrade within the same company. I plan to trade-up as many games as I can to Xbox One, and then sell the 360 games that I'm not interested in anymore. That way, I can have most of my games for one console. When I reviewed both the Xbox One and the PlayStation 4, I made a personal decision that I prefer the Xbox One rather than the PS 4. From what I can tell, the two aren't different enough to make a wrong purchase.

 

As I'm sure you know, PS4 has better hardware, Xbox has a more stable online service. Although, with PSN you get free games every month. Sony always had the better exclusives IMO. I had a 360 previous gen and always regretted not being able to play the last of us, uncharted, etc.
Plus the PS4 is very aesthetically pleasing.

 

Xbox One gives free games as well every month. And this is misleading, because most of the titles that are free on both systems are trash or are riddled with microtransactions.

Exclusives entirely opinionated - OP, you need to look @ the exclusives and decide for yourself. We don't know what you like.

My opinion? Neither. Xbox 360.

 

The games given with PS+ will get a hell of a lot better as time goes on. They often gave away AAA titles for the PS3. Nearly all of the "games with gold" games on the 360 were terrible.
Not to mention the sheer number of exclusives each side gets. Last gen Xbox had ~70 while PS3 had ~200.

 

Quality over quantity. Most exclusives on both sides are over-hyped by whatever console has it. Uncharted series was overrated as hell. Not saying it's bad, am definitely saying it was overrated.

Last of Us also one of the most overhyped games of all time. Was a good game, not a great game.

This just proves it's all up to preference of OP. One mans trash is another mans treasure as the old adage goes. Basically the games you listed as a reason to go to Playstation are the reason I think PS is overrated.

Then you have games on the Xb1 side that are exclusive and also trash. Or overrated games such as Gears of War.

I have a Ps3/Xbox 360/Xb1. My brother has Ps4. Infamous Second Son is probably my favorite game out on either console right now. The Infamous series was a good PS exclusive series. God of War is good too.


XB1 Halo MC collection will be good, imo, and DR3/Ryse weren't too shabby for initial opening console release exclusives.

I still think neither console has lived up to the hype of the "new generation" games. Then again, I clearly have a pretty strict standards on games because I have no reservations about calling Last of Us & Uncharted overhyped titles. Bioshock Infinite was another title I thought was mad overhyped.


Also, not all games with gold on Xbox 360 were bad. Darksiders 2, Halo Reach, etc. etc. I know there are other good ones that made it but don't remember all of em. Ps+ is better, I agree, but I don't like how PS charges a fee for Online now. That was the one huge perk it had over Xbox....now it's gone.

Let me clarify, too, I still believe buying the Xb1 was an outrageous waste of my money.

 

I have had opinions from friends them saying that both are really good. Whatever you think will be better for you, all preference based imo

 

I still give no clear edge to the Ps4 or Xbox 1 - price is the same now if you go with a Kinect-less Xb1 (highly recommended if you go Xb1, Kinect is pointless + a waste of money).

Exclusives: Infamous Second Son was good, Uncharted new gen will be good I'm sure, Last of Us only worth getting if you never played it.

For Xbox One, Ryse+Dead Rising 3 were pretty strong, I'm sure MC Collection will be good as well.

Interface: Both are clunky as hell, Microsoft was stupid not replicating the Xb360 interface (Best console interface ever, imo).

Annoying aspect of Xb1 - Downloading updates constantly, downloading game content even if it's on a disc (completely asinine), convoluted menus. Limited marketplace, too much indie game garbage. Too many "free" games with microtransactions or just shit in general.

 

PS4, coming from a PS3 it just seems like the obvious choice

Yeah you do, Ps3 you didn't but Ps4 you do.

 

I have both consoles. Honestly, they're both equally as good and both have their pros and cons.

I personally like the Xbox 1 better just cause of the controls and stuff. The controller for the PS4 isn't as nice as XB1. However, you won't go wrong in either choice.

 

OP stick to PC masterrace.

 

Do you not already have a 360 or PS3? Right now there isn't much point in getting the next gen. There isn't much you could compare with the xbox 1 and PS4 that would make me want one more than the other.
