EpicBot is a rat?

For a start I would use a proper and well known and respected virus scanner to scan it, MalwareBytes is a good example.

 

i was looking in 1st page and didnt see any... but no matter what virus protecter it is they all scan for the same thing ?

 

malware bytes comes up with nothing.

 

Super antispyware is actually one of the best malware scanners out there, I preferred it over malwarebytes. But this would explain it.. I used epicbot and I was playing Runescape and suddenly my account got locked. I entered my email and went on to my email to get my recovery message to see that got hacked too, I was very worried since it was the email I got 9 years ago and my original email.. I recovered the email to see they were training to change the email on the account, luckily I intercepted the email and changed it to another one of my own. I then got a message from not only paypal, but playerauctions and even microsoft(for my xbox gamertag) about my attempts to get my password changed. It was a horrible experience, I had over 60,000$ in college funds invested into the bank account linked to that paypal.

 

Epicbot isn't a RAT.

Guys stop posting this shit; sometimes you will get false AV positives when you download stuff like this.

 

Its probably not a RAT just a simple keylogger, epicbot isn't open source so it could easily be.

 

so you think its just a keylogger? So is not 100% safe ?

 

Some people say they got hacked, some people say that EpicBot is safe. You won't get a strait, unbiased answer anywhere. If you want to bot so badly, then take a leap of faith, or use another bot. There are alternatives like Simba, RiD, and Rarebot seems safe.

 

People are saying rarebot is a keylogger now too. They even had an admin leave and join another botting site because they added in the keylogger. The only way you'll get a straight answer about any bot is if its open source.

Simba/Scar is safe since you can just look at the script to see if it has anything weird in it.

 

If you are worried run it in a Virtual Machine. I personally don't trust it. Too many coincidences of people all of a sudden getting hacked (One of my accounts personally came up with a changed password after using rarebot and epicbot on it), and I can't check the source myself so I would rather not mess with it. They're installer alone is fishy, I mean it installs all kinds of adware.

Well apparently he was helping develop the bot as he had access to the source code and noticed the change.
