Bot nuke won't be in July . Mod Emilee confirmed!

this might upset many of you, but i want the bot nuke, way more spots to camp at blue dragons if you do them legit. so bot nuke is a win for me since i barely bot

Honestly guys, if you believe that jagex is going to just ban all the bots and make them completely unable to work, you are naive. jagex makes thousands upon thousands of dollars from bots. if bots were completely disabled they would lose out on all that money. money=good. jagex is a corporation to make money. they've proven that they care much more about money than what alot of players want, it's not going to get rid of bots, i'm 99% sure of that.

 

A graphical update to nerf color bots would pretty much make the game all one color. They would have to somehow block simba/color bots from being able to open RS altogether to really fuck with it. So he is just waiting for a new challenge it sounds like.

As with the previous 'nuke' in October it came with a few graphical changes. It's usually on a big enough scale to affect all (colour) scripts in general rather than a certain area in-game.

I've a few of my scripts of my scripts running smooth right now as of the most recent update with the client bar. I'd rather wait until their nuke has passed and quickly adjust to any changes just one time rather than release them now and have to update them again shortly after.

Also I'm not waiting to continue my work; I'm still in the middle of a couple projects. One of which should not be affected by the nuke; Simba OGL Interception. So I continue to work a little here and there with it.

Hmm, I guess that's a bigger deal for Simba than I thought. Most if not all of RiD's bots were updated within 24 hours of the first nuke, so I just figured updates wouldn't be that difficult or time consuming.

Looking forward to seeing where OGL interception goes with Simba, should be fun to watch. I believe that Trilez's OpenGL bot client was unaffected by the installation of the Optimus platform that nuked injection bots for a week or two, so I doubt that part 2 of Optimus will have any effect on your work. Indeed. What changed the most was MM flag colors as well as the compass itself. This took a bit of time to come up with a new formula to give an accurate calculation of the camera angle. This by far was the most difficult of the changes to bypass.

Also as you know most font, including all UpText & right-click options text received an overhaul; each character had to be parsed & cropped for Simba's OCR to correctly recognize the letter and tell it apart from any other. Luckily we have some very persistent members who created a new font set within the following 48 hours of the nuke. There's still a little talk about using OGL interception to 'dump' all font sets direction from the cache. This would definitely be the way to go.

As I am, I've high hopes for it personally.

Rather than the popular belief that Optimus is an assault on bots I believe it's more like an engine add-on; putting much more immediate control to the developers. Imagine Jagex being able to fluidly make changes in information being sent from the server to the client without the client needing an update. To the normal player nothing happens, that Yew tree they were cutting still looks like a Yew tree. But to a Java bot, who depends on the correct object ID of that Yew tree, it might as well be a castle door.

Should this be the case then I look forward to seeing all the Java bots standing idle in one place. I'll have my report button ready.

 

Is this "nuke" going to be the same as the last one they had almost a year ago when all the bots went down?

 

One of the above posts (screenie of the Jagex mod) talked about implementing heuristics maybe they are targeting the repetitive nature of scripts. Heuristics could be used to find a pattern of a script and allow anti-botting software to learn who the bots are.

Actually they were (not sure if they still are) doing that.

It was called account reinstatement.. They would review your banned account and put negative membership credits on it forcing you to buy how ever many game cards it took.

 

So.. is this still a plan? I haven't been following the bot nuke round two, but I certainly hope they stay up for another 2 months <3

 

it would be funny if runescape is just trolling us, making all of us bot now and the bot nuke is like in a couple of days

 

Theres going to be another bot nuke? well thats not good... well for you botters anyway lol I'm sure the botclients will once again overcome these issues

 

Bot nukes are just to give legit players some hope about a game without bots. Botters and Jagex knows its not possible to lose bots forever.
