Lost full elite void/rapier/fire cape :(

Bummer. Didn't realize jagex updated their password changing system so I couldn't change my password after a service i bought and they did the sadistic thing and dropped it all. Also spent my sizzling summer rewards, but I'm not too bothered about that. Sucks that for the next 3 weeks they can log into my account, though. Can't change password because I forgot the email the account is associated with


Oh and it was one of two users here, but I'm not going to say a name because it's not fair to the other. If there is any way I could know the IP of the users I would be able to identify who did it, but that would just be a little personal comfort, and isn't proof to ban anyone IMO.

I recently lost 200m +FC and Rap because of a hacking. Not a fun time

 

The amount of times I've been hacked is ridiculous.

I've lost countless untradables due to it.

Easily 1B+ RSGP.

I've not been scammed on here yet (And the only way I will be scammed is if it is by a VERY trusted user).

I mainly get scammed by friends I trust too much over the game.

 

wow unlucky, never been hacked myself, account is 6 years old

 

paid for a service from a trusted user, got scammed 300M and about 100M in supplies... dropped all my charms i have saved up from slayer all my chaotics and dung accessories.

 

459 days ago is when i was hacked, and quit scape for 10+B and quit :/

 

It makes me mad when they drop charms/chaotics/FC/Kilncape etc, they do not gain anything. Stealing rsgp is already a dick move, but to drop things that you don't gain anything from is absolutely sad.

 

forgot to mention my fc. This guy was trusted to. But he eventually got banned but still does not make up for everything that I lost beecause I put so much of my time into getting those items.

 

Yeah I've always thought that. I like to think that if someone does get hacked then at least they will not take things that aren't tradeable. In a way you could say they have a high RSGP value themselves due to the time involved getting them or paying for a kilncape service etc. This happened to my friend, he had to leech back all his chaotics which costed 100m +.

 

How are you getting the password change? Manual recovery? I'm having the same problem with the e-mail.

 

If you were hacked you can enter a hack recovery, but if you forgot your email you're sorta screwed which is a big problem with the new system. It allows anyone to hack you and you can't do squat about it until you get the change. It takes them 4 weeks to even email you back though, so I have to wait.

Yea I will, just an upset. No use fretting over it as it was in a way my fault for not knowing jagex updated their password changing system. All of that aside, I think the system is faulted and should be updated.

8 year old account and never been hacked. Seems to me pretty easy to avoid it... Only real bad luck story was getting cleaned for around 200m.

 

They require a registered email to change passwords now. If you didn't know about this and forgot your email then you can't change your pass.

 

Dang, sorry to hear that man :/ Once i ran into the red clan wars portal instead of the white one on accident (lag misclick) and i thought i was in the white so i ran in and lost claws+fury+torso+fighter hat on my zerk.. wasn't a great day

 

Worst I've ever had was bots being banned with a few hundred m on them, but to be honest it wasn't a big deal and fairly rare.

 

I setup the new protection ability which only allows you to log onto the account from a certain ip.
