Learning the Black Market

Hi, everyone!

I'm new to this forum, and would like to make a short introduction.

I played RuneScape a long, long time ago. (In a galaxy far, far away!) I was a big player during the opening of the game in 2001 'til late 2002ish. It started to bore me after that, and continues to, I haven't played seriously since around that time.

I have wanted to sell the items on my character for a long time. People wanted to buy them several years ago, but I didn't take it seriously.

I have a set of party hats, one of each colour. Tons of halloween masks, pumpkins, santa hats, easter eggs, you name it. I even have a half jug of wine, disk of returning, and christmas cracker.

Every year or so, I try to find a way to perhaps sell my items, but I never find a way and give up pretty quickly. Until now! This site looks incredible, and I'm happy to have found it and be a part of it.

Last I'd heard was that Jagex decided to take away trading. Is this true? If it is, then I don't see how I could sell my items outside of selling my account altogether.

Which is the better way to go about doing this?

Lastly, I want everybody on this fine forum to know I would never scam anybody. I would never recover the account after passing it on. I want somebody to enjoy all of this as much as I did.

Some quick things to know about sythe before you start selling.
A) If something seems to good to be true I can almost assure you it is
B) If someone is in a huge hurry to buy something from you and keeps rushing you. Use an OMM or gtfo. Listen to your heart.
C) Dont trust someone cause they seem cool. Trust them cause they've been aroud forever and they have legit vouches.

They've cleaned sythe up a lot over the years. But there's still a ton of scammers out there so be careful and trade with caution. Would be a shame if you lost a rare to a scammer.

Oh, sorry missed your question. Jagex put in trade limits. And the grand exchange and all that jazz. But the market is a little different. There's street prices( what people are willing to pay) and market prices(grand wxchange cost)
the street value on some rares is way above market price. I.e. Partyhats, cracker, disk, half wine.
So if I wanted to buy a purple in game. Allthough market is 430m or whatever. I'll never ever be able to get one in the grand exchange cause no one sells them for that price. Street price on a purple is 1.1b more or less.

So, I give you market value + $ and you sell me the rares for market I.e. Purple for 430m rsgp + $140
red for 437m +$210
white 454m + 300
blue 522m + 700

those aren't solid rsgp prices but they're pretty close on the real life ammount. Hope I helped

So what you're saying is that people must give me RuneScape gold in addition to real life money? What if I have no interest in the gold? Is this the only way transactions come about now?

Also, how likely is it to sell this account with all of its goodies on it? That would be preferred, as it seems you cannot simply trade off items anymore.

Yes, people are paying the difference between Market and street price with real life money. Unfortunately pretty much nothing is tradeable by itself anymore.

As far as selling the account with everything on it...It usually seems better money to sell the rares, then just sell an account with a bunch of rsgp.

So I sadly have to receive money as part of it? I assume this then takes away from the money I'd be making in real life.

Is it possible for the buyer to offer me the lowest possible amount of RSGP that the game will allow, so I can get more real life money? Thanks for all info.

Also, do you think I'd be able to sell all of these rare holiday items easily?

I'd really like to sell the character and its items all as one big, discounted package, I'm hoping I can find someone interested.

 

omm's are official middle men, they are 100% trusted and usualy have dealt with more the 1000$ without scamming. as for sellign yer rares and your acc the way to make the most cash is, sell the rares speratly like slack said, getting rsgp AND real life money, then you can sell the acc with the same amount of rsgp "networth" ( or sell the rsgp seperatly for a dollar a mill) and make more cash....

You can move gold pieces through trade 'unevenly,' but not items?

So, like, I can sell the rares, get gold pieces as part of the deal, and then move them later on? How easy is it to do that?

Also, another question, how non-specific do I want to be about my account and the exact numbers of items? I imagine Jagex has people viewing this to ban people, so I want to try to remain as anonymous as I can until I give away my information to the buyer.

Selling lowest vs. Selling mid won't make you much as the margin is only typically 60k... You can only gain or lose so much wealth per 15 mins or whatever. So... You could sell a white for 454000000 instead of 454,065,000... So there's not much to be made.

As to the ease of selling, what exactly do you have to sell? I can give you some pretty close prices on most things.

Before you waste any time. Rares like, masks, eggs, and Santas are crashing hella. So you have to pay other people to buy them.

Hats, disks, pumps, wines, and crackers are the ones worth selling

And when selling items. You only need one pic of whatever you're selling.
Jagex won't be able to trace out who is selling one red party hat. As to the number of each you have in stock. I wouldn't release that information to ANYONE. Don't make yourself a target to be hacked. Take a picture of one of each rare. All you have to do is prove you actually have what you're selling

 

Well, I'll tell you that I have at least one of everything you mentioned.

So, you said Pumpkins, Party Hats, Christmas Crackers, Disk of Returnings and Half Jugs of Wine are the ones worth selling right now, and I've got at least one of all of those.

I also have a mass of everything else. There's just got to be some way I can sell my account in one foul swoop. Perhaps a very rich fan of the game? Haha.

Cracker -+ $1200
Half wine +- $1000
Blue partyhat +- $700
White partyhat +- $300
Red partyhat +- $220
Pumpkin +- 35-40

The lower hats prices variate more often allthough green, purple, and yellow all stay within the $120-$200 ish range

and I'm thinking a disk is also around $40 not positive though as I've never traded in them(feel free to critique any of my pricing... Just know that this is what I personally have bought or sold at, or is currently being bought or sold at)

Impressed to see how the Half Wine is so pricy. That's always been a fan favourite of mine.

I imagine there are few Christmas Crackers left at all left in the game at all, explaining why that's the coveted one.

 

When you post under Item exchange... Make sure you have a pic to put up before you post. As per the sticky. Spyike will close your thread otherwise.
Just a heads up.

As to the cracker. Some people speculate there's as few as 20. I think there's probably around 100 left on active accounts. And probably 300 more on accounts that can be accessed or recovered and whatnot... As with all rares. Everytime someone dies and loses it, eats it, gets banned, or just dissappears. It gets moreso rare

As previously. Pretty much everyone on here is a scammer. So use an omm, cover your ass, and don't trust or go first to anyone who isn't sythe staff (mod, admin, omm)
