Opinion on DCs?

What do you guys think should be done with all these DCs (disconnections) happening.

First, Jagex needs to upgrade servers obviously. But honestly, do you think Members should receive some sort of compensation? Such as 7 extra days of membership or something?

No compensation will happen ever, because I could easily fake being disconnected all the time to farm 7 days of free membs, or get "lost items" over and over again.

 

wont get any compensation tbh, but i do agree on upgrading their servers lol

 

It's different when all the worlds are DCing and it's proven that it's Jagex fault.

It's an interruption to our gameplay.

 

not their fault, lizard squad or w/e their name is, they ddos other games too to brag about their hacking skills

 

They're still getting DDOSed then lol. Pretty sure it's just server issues right now.

 

Being DDOSed isn't an excuse. A company the size of Jagex should be able to properly secure their game with anti-ddos measures.

It's very pathetic that they can't defend against these attacks or whatever is going on. Upgrade the staff or hire more.

 

Upgrade the staff or hire more? Lol..... The staff have nothing to do with the servers ddos mitigation.

 

How does it not? If DDOS' keep happening, something needs a change in staff or something of the sort.

You just gonna let it keep happening? I get that DDOS' are hard to protect against but with a company like Jagex you'd think they'd figure it out.

 

A compensation in terms of free 7 days members will very likely not happen. From a marketing stand point of view, most of their customers are die-hard runescape players. They know we will not quit Runescape over such a small inconvenience presented as the DC.

Simple cost-benefit analysis would dictates that the best way to solve the issue is to simply put effort and resources into ensuring servers are going to run smoothly in the future rather than to try and appease their customer base who are die-hard fans already.

 

There are 'die-hard' players yes. But then there are many that aren't and probably quit.
