Automerge Doublepost

I posted this once a long time ago, I got one person with feedback on it.

There is a mod for vBulletin called Auto Merge Double Post I believe. Otherwise it is something you can set in the Admin CP.

It does what it says, if someone double posts their second post will automatically be merged with there first.

It'll pretty much eliminate double, triple, quadruple, etc. posting.

It's not a mod, it's included in the latest version of vBulletin.

(Not the version we are running)

 

Ok I thought so, it seemed like something that should be included. Why haven't we started to run into the 3.7s yet? Wouldn't it be better to update since there are less exploits and Proof of Concepts out for it? Or is that just a myth that I made up in my head

There are exploits for this version, but if I am not mistaken, they have all been patched. ^^

I think it costs money to upgrade or something.

 

Hurr, yes. It's $180 for a full license (indefinite) which includes a free year of updates; it's an additional $60 for another year of updates. Not a terrible deal.

 

We should just get 60 people to donate $1 to sythe.org then.

 

I didn't know that.. I always thought the updates were free. Ah well. It would be nice if Sythe puts the donations toward that
