Hey guys, I have this extremely important exam this Monday. This exam will either allow me to attend University or simply not, this is my last chance. I've been studying and I'm somewhat ready but not ready enough. Everytime I try to sit down and study, i want to waste time, play games and what not. I need an effective way to let me study and more importantly, i would like support from fellow Sythe users!!

    Thank you :(

**Update: Just finished the exam and did great hopefully, Will keep you all updated (Marks are on March the 14th, Pray for me!)

Turn everything off and sit in your room alone and study with no distractions. Once in a while, take a break from studying and do something else and then go back to studying. I think you aren't giving yourself a break, that's why you want to keep wasting time? Idk but could be that.

You can do it and like you said, this is a very important exam that decides whether you attend University or not.

Study for an hour or two then reward yourself. Watch some TV, get some fresh air etc then come back for another session.

Studying non-stop is almost as bad as not studying at all. Good luck :)

Take notes of the important stuff, going though and writing things down helps you remember it. Even if you throw it away right after just looking though helps you remember.

I am currently in college and I actually do quite well.

One advice that I will give, and I really hope you try it out because it really works, is to write in red the things you want to memorize.

I promise it works and has helped me in many exams, as red is a colour that calls the attention. This has been scientifically tested. Write it in red as many times as possible.

What I tend to do with my Uni work is to study 2 hours a day, 1 hour on then watch some TV or come on Sythe or something for half an hour and then do another hour. You don't want to study too much or you'll get a brain overload and wont remember anything at all anyway. Also just before the exam, 30 mins - 1 hour before, quickly go over your notes, take like 10 seconds on each page, not properly reading, but just scim reading for a quick refresher.

Make a little timetable maybe. 1 or 2 hours studying twice a day or whatever seems to be doable for you :)

I've been there mate. Just distance yourselves from all your distractions and get to studying. Reward yourself after every few hours with a quick game or such. Let us know how you do!

Go outside your room and study where you don't have any distractions.

If you find yourself always going back to TV, games etc. Just leave. If leaving the room isn't enough leave your home and go to the local library. Sit at a table, relax and study. It's peaceful, quiet, and makes studying that much easier! If you have an MP3 player of some sort pop it out and listen to some Beethoven.
