am i becoming an alcoholic?

im 16 and when i went to my first party i didn't really want to try alcohol and i never did but i eventually got curious and had some shots, and the rest of the night was amazing. Im usually an uptight person but when i drink im all lose and i can talk about anything. and now i like getting drunk because it helps me be my true self. Am i going to be an alcoholic? also i don't like drinking beer cause its gross so i just take shots

 

No lol. You just enjoy using a drug, which is normal.

 

I don't think so, (bear with me, I know this is going to sound immature and stupid) I love getting drunk with my friends as much as I ever have and I haven't drank for.. 3 months maybe?

Like you wake up in the morning and the first thing you do is drink lol.

Your not becoming an alcoholic. Although shots is a little excessive at 16, its not bad to have a little fun. I personally prefer just drinking beer (im 16 aswell) because after a few shots I feel sick as hell.

But i dont really like alcohol eather Im just a major pothead I mean major.
But im kinda ocd at the same time everythings perfect almost.
I get smashed and don't stop drinking when I actually do start drinking
haha and I kinda think the same thing.

 

I'm 16, and I'm the same. Shots or beer, they both get ya pissed haha.

You're only an alcoholic when you drink to be happy all the time. Drinking when you're out with mates is no sign for alcoholism as it's part of modern culture.

I come from a partying back ground and still do party pretty hard (just without alcohol). I went though a stage of drinking a bottle of vodka in on night because it was the thing to do back then, you will grow out of it eventually

I don't think you're becoming one, you're just having fun, and drinking is a part of that.
And if you think you're getting addicted, you atleast know it, and can do something about it.

 

age doesnt matter, if u have an emotional feeling, liek u have to drink to feel like yourself or feel happy, then yes u are. I know from experience..i did with weed, and vodka. I hate beer to, lame as fuck. I still drop e tho at clubs

 

E is really fun though. Don't overdo it It's been 2 months since the last time I rolled and I'm waiting for the perfect opportunity to do it again since you should wait at least a month in between rolling, because of chance of it's neurotoxicity >_<

 

Your not your 'real' self when you consume alcohol like that.

Alcohol inhibits your brains ability to make reasonable decisions. The more alcohol you drink, the less calculated your decisions become. Don't worry, your definitely not an alcoholic yet, but, if your purely drinking to get drunk, and if your drinking shots then chances are your heading down that path. Don't ever mistake drinking alcohol for an increase in your socialization, the neurological reason for this is that your brain isn't making good decisions. It's letting its guard down so to say.

Having said that, enjoy being a teenager, it's fun! Just don't go out to drink purely to get drunk, go out to have a good time with your mates.

 

No, you're experimenting. I remember my first days of drinking and thinking it was so fun getting hammered, now I go out and can socially drink and I can get drunk when I want it's not as fun cus you hurt alot more the next day.

 

When it's Wednesday and you have just woken up and the first thing you do is scull out of the Jim beam bottle and scratch your balls.. This is when you should start asking "am I an alcoholic"

 

Like everyone else has said, nope. It all seems like a great time until you wake up with your first hangover, or pass out on your bathroom floor after throwing up into your toilet for an hour.

 

I'm 15, turning 16. I drink quite a bit, when I'm out with friends.. But I don't NEED alcohol to have a good time. I think you're with me, parties, etc are alot more fun if you're drunk, (for most people) so you're just doing it to have fun. When you drink by yourself because your sad, or you're starting to drink everyday, that's when it gets serious.

 

If you like drinking alcohol to have fun at parties you are not an alcoholic.

If you find yourself drinking and getting drunk by yourself then yes, you are an alcoholic.

You've experienced something great for the first time just enjoy it nothing to worry about
