Hmm, why not make a Tic-Tac-Toe game. Make it so you can have it two player, and also one player. One player would involve some AI programming, but that'd be cool to learn (I just downloaded a huge 900+ page book on AI. PM me if you want a link to around 30 books on AI). You could then extend it to have the AI at certain difficulty levels and whatnot.

Or, if feeling particularily adventurous, make a Four-in-a-Row game with AI. It'd be harder, and bigger, but very cool. Of course, you'd probably want a simple GUI for that.

But yeah, if I had the time right now, that's what I'd be doing. But I've dedicated the next few weeks to learning Lisp so I don't just yet.

I suggest you dump C++ ATM and try Visual C# .NET 2005 (Express Edition).
C++ is a huge pain in the neck to figure out what to do with it (IMO).

I think its too advanced and useless for me, unless creating small, harmful executables.

i already know how to program in C#.net. Besides, Express edition sucks :p I use Professional. I have no intention in learning something easy at the moment. That's why i choose C++ for my next project.

What are the main differences between the express and pro editions?

I might buy Visual Studio 2005 Professional if it deems worthy.

I don't think I will need the Pro version after all, it doesn't have too many more attractive features.
