    Better Way of Catching Scammers

Instead of making mods read every single scammer report, I think people should be able to vote on whether they believe that the proof posted is legit or fake/flawed. If many vote that it is legit, then a mod should only then have to go through it. Also, there should a post count restriction of 100+ or something (not really sure) to prevent scammers from cheating on their own posts.

Furthermore, people should be able to make a "sub-report" onto the "Scammer" as another person so that all the scammer reports of a person are in the same place.

The only problem is people will dispute the hell out of these bans simply because certain members aren't liked (i.e. WoW is fun) and (s)he could be banned for nothing other than being disliked.

But, the mod will still check the proof, people won't get banned for unpopularity.

Basically, the users do the first check and the mod will do the second and more important one, since i am sure that there are others except for me who read the "Report a Scammer" thread for fun.

I think this idea is good, but it needs to be polished.

Rude people would get banned simply because they're rude, and not because they scammed. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think only Guru's should be able to vote, not because I am one, but because they tend to be the ones that are most mature and have the most reliable opinions?

On the other hand, it would make Sythe a better place. People wouldn't be rude to one another, given the fact that the community could ban them anytime.

I think that this idea would just turn into A huge popularity contest.

If A leecher is accused of scamming the odds are stacked hugely in the accuser's favour.

I don't support, this isn't at all reliable, and not everyone have the knowledge to judge such things, which will lead to many noobs just voting yes.

This is a really bad idea.

It is a great idea. I think most of you naysayers don't get it. The voting is to determine whether it is looked at by a mod or not.

It's a terrible idea. -.- Mods can be held responsible for sloppiness, and are required to look at all the available proof, as well as make a fair decisions; a random user would have no such obligation. They may vote ban simply because they dislike the user, or vote to reject the proof because they've had one good trade with the user in the past, without ever looking at the evidence. Or, they may reject the proof out of friendship, bribery, or any number of things.

So no. Reports will remain a moderator responsibility.
