Hmm yeah I may consider that. I use SRL to auto btw. It would be a good way to get cash onto my pure anyway.

Granite, in fact, trades for less then 10% of what it did two weeks ago, mostly because of the hundreds of guides like this floating around the internet. It's almost impossible to sell, even at minimum.

That's correct: Granite traded for 10,500 gold for a 5kg block two weeks ago. It now trades for a whopping 985 gold for the same 5kg, if you can even sell it to anybody. That's less then 10% of what it used to sell for. Smaller blocks of granite (1kg and 500k) are proportional in price.

Yet thousands of dreamers read: "zOMG I make 2 million an hour mining granite!!!"), don't bother checking the current price, go waste a few hours of their time mining it, then try trading it and find out that they MIGHT be able to make 50k per hour, IF they can find a buyer, which is unlikely. I just checked the Granite mining area on four worlds. All have players happily mining away, so it will be a long time before everybody gets wise.

 

To some extent this is correct, but in the sense of transfering gold from account to account, this still does work, obviously not to the extent that it did. Just take the account with the gold and have them buy the granite off the other account and vioala! As many hace stated however, this is no where near as effective as it was 2 weeks ago, and in my opinion, would be a waste of time. I'm sure you could make more flletching maple longbows.

 

F*CKING HELL. I am so annoyed the price has gone down stupid noobs trying to sell it. Its not meant to be sold. I was gonna use this method to transfer a white phat but not i have to rethink that... Fucking aggrivation.

The first time this guide appeared (which was somewhere besides Sythe), the whole premise of RWT was flawed. The original creator of the guide didn't even know that the Granite 5kg could be chiseled into the useful and sellable Granite 500g, due to the mining update. As the guide was copied, ad nauseum all over the internet, nobody bothered to correct that oversight. So Granite was used for RWT when in fact, it could be sold.

Now the market is glutted with Granite, and it's virtually unsellable. I suppose it can still be used for RWT, but at 739 for 5kg (415 for 1kg, 115 for 500g), there are much faster ways to RWT.

Players could buy 5kg on the Grand Exchange for 739 gold and chisel it into ten 500g Granite(s) and try to sell them for 115 each, for a profit of about 400 per Granite 5kg, but even the Granite 500g is selling VERY SLOWLY, it might be weeks before you can unload it, and the price may go down in the meantime.

 

This, is in-fact, very outdated. Granite mining is but is way to simply NOT make cash and waste your time now-days.

 

Uhh.... Sorry to burst your bubble but granite is garbage cheap again...
