Best way to reach ELO Challenger? Or atleast Diamond

Started playing LoL 6 months ago for my very first time and I have not been able to rise in ELO (silver I) although I waste my days watching guides and being couched by friends of higher ELOs, any advice?

 

Play with better players, play everyday, and watch better players play. Getting good at league takes serious dedication and commitment in my opinion.

 

learn 3 champs for a specific role to your liking and stick to it. Learn about all champion match up's vs those 3 such as counters, when to go in/when to pull back. Practice, practice, practice. Practice map awareness, rotating, warding, counter item buying, dragon/baron timers, enemy jungler rotations, when to group, when to defend.. strategic plays.. such as risk vs reward. For example, giving up dragon for another objective if you can't contest it. Or baiting enemy team in order to secure an objective on other side of map.

Avoid chasing when not necessary, try to end game as early as possible, lower elo tends to reset a lot instead of pushing for a free towers/inhib when enemy team is all dead so sometimes you may have to spam ping them lol but anyways help jungler with vision in enemy jg etc. At the end of the day its a team game and some games you just cant win.

A whole lot goes into it but once when you practice it becomes second nature and natural to ya. Also when you are fighting someone pretend like you're the enemy opponent. What would you do to yourself if you were the enemy? That will help you counter and predict them. Also know cooldowns for all character skills and summoner skills will help as well. It's a lot to learn.

 

1.) Learn/master a small pool of champions, do not spam 15 different champions, focus on a select few. Try aim for solo carries with good mobility. For example, mid laners e.g. vlad/fizz have good escapes and therefore your deaths SHOULD remain fairly low.

2.) Know how to wave manage, this means, if as a mid laner, you see the enemy mid laner roam (PING on the map/ss) and SHOVE the wave to deny the enemy mid lane from XP. Although CS is important, leveraging your level advantage and power spikes is crucial too. Setting up freezes means your jungler can come easily as the wave is towards your side of the map, when scuttles are up for example, it's a good time to potentially set up a freeze/slow push towards you, he can take scuttle and burn mid summoners/get an easy pick on a squishy mid, e.g. lux.

3.) Learn individual matchups, trading patterns/when to stop chasing, e.g. is it worth chasing a 0/9/2 tank support who requires you to use a kaisa ult? Clearly not in almost every scenario, hold ult and use it for more dangerous situations, chasing kills in low elo is the main reason people fail to climb past gold.

These are some simple but effective methods to climb, learning this can easily take you to high plat. Plat+ is more macro based, mechanics in gold elo tend to be somewhat ok (for EUW anyway).

Don't spam ping your team when they forget to heal for example or be toxic, just causes them to troll or int the game, just ping once and that's it.

 

My advice is to just focus on map awareness, creep score, lane management, and getting better at baiting / securing kills
