Paypal owning me after a chargeback

It seems like they charged me some $10 additional fee, after the amount I got charge backed. Do they always do this? I was aware of the chargeback but accepted it as a loss so never really bothered with the dispute, is ignoring the dispute why they charged me this additional fee?




This is a snippet from the email I got:

 

It's a fee from the buyers credit card company. They purchased from a credit card balance using the credit card attached to their Paypal account.

 

That's crazy, I wish i could see the scammer.

When you sign up with paypal, you agree to this.

 

Since he used a credit card, the credit card company charged paypal a fee, which was passed on to you.

What kinda reject chargebacks $20

 

First time I'm seeing a $10 addition. I've had quite a few chargebacks, but none had that extra.

More than likely a stolen credit card.

 

Stolen creditcard chargebacks go automatically, so they don't need to do it themselves.

 

I got charged a $40 fee for a $20 chargeback once. I called paypal and since it was my first one, they reversed the fee. I presume you can call them and ask nicely if they'll reverse it for you also kamjoot

 

Is this something they've just recently started doing? I've had plenty of chargebacks but I don't recall ever having an additional fee.

 

There are different types of chargebacks. A chargeback in which the buyer contacts the credit card company to reverse the charges is subject to this $10 fee. It's fairly standard.
