Thanks for your input guys. For the mo' I will hold off on it just to truly gauge if I actually want one but I am more inclined to purchase the medium as I can imagine moving the canvas constantly will be annoying. Atlas, feel free to respond as to how you are finding your tablet if/when you get it.

Start off with a Bamboo, if you get serious upgrade to an Intous or a Cintiq. I'd say get a larger sized tablet, personally, it puts less strain on my wrist as it can get sore from hours on end. You should also note the iPad you will be drawing directly onto the screen whereas with lower-end tablets such as the Bamboo or Intous you'll have to get used to hand-eye co-ordination as the tablet doesn't actually show the screen itself. This ofcourse is not the case with the Cintiq but it does have a hefty price tag which is not worth it for someone who's just starting out.

Alright, so my tablet finally arrived. I got the intuos pen and touch medium. So far it's pretty great, it just takes a little getting used to with the eye-hand coordination and using a pen for a mouse rather than a regular mouse. :) pretty good investment, I just need to learn to paint with it :p

controlling your flow and opacity is key to blending with it.
