Wrath of the Lich King

Well I bought the expansion last night and I just installed it onto my computer. I was excited to talk with my friends and be able to get an 80 and make a death knight right after. But then when I opened the launcher it starts to download the patches starting from 3.0 I think it was. So I am just wondering why I need to download these again if I already had my game updated to the most recent patch?

 

You have to re-patch with Wrath just like you did with Vanilla. The patches you did before only patched Vanilla, and now you are patching Wrath. Make sense?

 

I'm not sure because i have 3.1 even though i'm only TBC.

 

You still have to have the Vanilla patched to 3.1, even if you don't have Wrath. It will still affect you.
