Double-XP Weekend?

Not sure exactly where this is posted because I cba to open my laptop and go to my emails right now, but I was just forwarded an email stating that March 12 - March 15 will be a "Double XP weekend" where all skill raising activities will infact give 2.7x their normal experience gains.

PROS:
Do I really need to state them? Its double xp people!

CONS:
Many nerds may die from sleep deprivation
Jagex will catch many botters (because we all know there are plenty of greedy kids out there, just look at the report-a-scammer section)

Can anyone else actually confirm this 100%, with a link and what not?

Also, what are your thoughts on this? Anybody cancelling dates and stocking up on food yet?

 

It sounds highly unlikely because Jagex never puts the players first.

Well apparently its happening. I suggest everyone buy into logs, seeds, herbs and runes. Buy into raw materials in general. Save them up for 2 weeks then sell for massive profits. <-Spoiler?

I'm going to either train magic/prayer during the bonus exp times. This is true, it's been announced on the Runescape website.

No. More people will expend raw materials in theirs skills than they will making raw materials.

You need to use general psychology and think into the mindset of a young teenager. Esp if you've played this game as long as I have.

You also need to remember previous updates. What generally inflates and becomes in higher demand? The Log, or the bow?

The log is put into higher demand because the fletching skill is already fast to train, so double exp will make it faster (thats the mindset part).

With double exp players will typically spend large amounts of money on raw materials to make final products (i.e. logs, potions, runes), therefore there will be a surplus of seconds, and a deficit of raw materials.

Keep that in mind when you merchant. My suggestion right now is to take a spare 30M and invest in about 100K yews. You should be buying them for the next few days.

The day before, or the day of (risky) the update, sell them all and you should pull 50-60M out of it.

Pure speculation but I'm basing it off prior events.

True, but, then again more people go out for the hunt of botters...

So, you're not totally guaranteed to get away, :S.

Which is why...I'm not going to bot more than I usually do, I'm going to bot the normal amount, and basically there will be no change in my game play, .
