Skill tree help!

So i've just downloaded POE and i'm about to start playing, i've never played it before, but i've seen a few videos and live streams. What i need help with is the whole skill tree thing. to be honest i don't understand it, all i know is back when i played wow i always chose the wrong things, and ended up somewhat ruining my experience of the game. So, Any advice on what to do with my skill tree from the start would be much appreciated!

 

It's definitely quite a bit to take in all at once.

You could try just following a cookie cutter build until you get a grasp for the game and its mechanics. A great place to look for such builds is exilepro.

I decided to go for a Marauder (not sure this is the best choice, but this is my preferred style).

Not sure if it's good or bad to be honest, i'm still pretty clueless. Hopefully, it'll turn out okay though

 

The start is pretty standard, but you're only showing half of the build, I'd need to see the rest and know what skills you'd be using to know if it's any good

 

Ohh I don't really know what to use, (gear & gems) but hopefully that won't make too much difference?

You can have the perfect build but if you're not using the right gear or skills it's useless.

It looks fairly well done, though I don't think you need all of the .4% regen nodes. I don't play a GS class though so it's hard to say. It could probably be optimized for sure though.
