    bucket of water

    okay, so a while ago buckets of water were 19 gp and i started buying them out. now they're about 40 gp each with a lot, if not most of it from personal buying. Recently i got curious to see just how high i can make them rise. and being that i personally cannot make it rise more than 1 gp every day or two, i wanted to try and enlist your help. its the same thing as buying out, but with buckets of water. if anyone wants to be apart of this, simply buy them at max in the GE and keep updating your offers every day. not too many people sell buckets of water, so youll only get about 300/day tops, but its enough to make the price rise.

    if you look at the grand exchange graph for the last 180 days, http://services.runescape.com/m=itemdb_rs/Bucket_of_water/viewitem.ws?obj=1929&scale=2, youll notice that there's 3 major humps in the price. these are all times within the last 180 days that i've tried to buy them out. right now were at the top of the biggest hump, meaning that its closer than ever to rising over 50 or over 100 gp. so right now is when to take advantage of this for double profit when it finally reaches 100gp. it is a very cheap buy out, so anyone with at least 500k can be a part of it.

    This was just an idea ive had for a few months after i noticed i could manipulate the price on my own. so if you feel like this is your calling, make a few offers and help me out. and for those that are against my idea, or have something negative to say, i would prefer if you do not even reply.

    thanks =]

    EDIT: First off, i would like to correct the 300 buckets per day, as that was a VERY rough estimate i made. i realize i am not the ONLY reason the items are rising, but i would think i update my prices on them. Also, on the graph, each time it was supposedly "merched" was times when i was purchasing a lot, and trying to raise the price, a few times i did not update my GE, and left for a few days, are where you see the price drop. unless the people buying the buckets of water are doing it without the purpose of increasing their price, i do not see any reason to believe that i am not making the most impact on the price. if i could make an assumption, it would be that there really aren't that many buckets of water coming into the market on a daily basis. people don't just sit and fill buckets up to sell. so changing the price of an item that has a low general quantity, would require much less than it would to change the price of an item that is constantly being replenished. AND, you guys haven't been watching the graph nearly as long as i have to know that whenever i make a change to my spending, the price also changes. Weather or not if other people are buying them is irrelevant, unless they update their price with every little 1gp rise like i do, and use some consistency, i do not see anyone else making a large impact on this.

    This is not just some wacky idea i had and decided to post about. It is a price i have been watching for much longer than the graph shows, and guaranteed longer than most of you and everything i have seen shows that my spending is manipulating the price. As far as the profit i am making, its for fun, and i do not care whether i make or lose money by doing this. even though i haven't lost any yet.

    and finally, for those that say i cannon change the price of an item without investing 100's of millions. With buckets of water, theres not 100's of millions worth to buy, so the price manipulation is happening on a much smaller scale than with any almost all other items. meaning that you can affect the price by buying much less than you would have to buy of another item like fire runes, or whips.

    you are not manipulating the price on your own by only buying 300 a day trust me. Other people buy buckets of water to train certain skills and to make soft clay. No way 300 buckets of water will really affect the price.

    Also at only 1 gp rise a day and only being able to buy 300 of them a day that is only a 300gp profit which is kind of stupid and worthless really, you can get faster cash by just killing goblins.

    then why, when i stop buying them, does the price drop? on the graph, each time the price dropped significantly, was a time when i either wasn't buying them, or didn't update my offers. and if everyone is trying to buy them, why was the price not rising before?

    Coincidence? He is right, how an you affect the total price of water buckets by buying 300 a day? I understand other people may be buying too and honestly it looks like they were merched already when I look at the graph but you honestly can't believe your the sole reason for the rise in price of this item.

    Like he said before, one person can not manipulate price unless you invest over 100's of millions of gold. not 300 a day.

    there is not 100's of millions of gp worth of buckets of water. therefore, it takes less money/investing to raise the price.

    the evidence of a previous merch that you saw was left over from the last time i continuously updated my GE offers to raise the price. i would buy and buy and buy, then forget to update my offers, or stop playing for a while, and the price would drop. but when i start buying again, the price would gradually rise again. the 300 buckets was a rough estimate, as the amount changes each day. I put in offers for 1k buckets in each of my GE spots but they do not sell fast enough to buy more than approx. 300-700 before you must update the price again. throughout the course of about a year, i have been playing around with this price enough to know that i am causing the price change. Maybe not alone, but with very little help.

    Nice spam?

    On another note why don't you all try it out and see how far we can make buckets go? Its only 300gp a day after all.

    it is not at all. they're are way more needles circulating than buckets of water. even though a lot of people buy water buckets, they use them, not hold onto them. so they're constantly being taken away from the market and used. now, let me know when you see someone adding them to the market by filling buckets up and selling them to the GE. unless people are doing that, then we have almost a straight shot at making it rise.

    bump..

    and ckeck the bucket of water graph since the date of this post. (mar 26th). i started mass buying them, with help from some people, and as you can see, its rising again. its a more steep incline this time though because i have been asking people for help. http://services.runescape.com/m=item...j=1929&scale=2
