How did you trade????

What I want to know is..before free trade came back... how did people on Sythe buy and sell gp?(if they did)
Was it just account trading for irl money?

 

People sold gold in "Gold Farming Services," where you would log onto someones account and bot a certain skill to make them an 'X' amount of money.

 

They bought items at the lowest price and sold them to their GP mules for med price.

 

LONG time ago, I used BH method.

 

Remembered something else:
They also could transfer gold between accounts, Gold Transfering Guides were a common sight in the Guides Market.

 

There were many methods of selling gp.

1. Transferring the gold
- People found many methods of transferring gold (really obscure). A lot of people also sold guides on transferring gp.

2. Junk trading
- People bought junk items worth a lot. For example, broodoo shields were junk worth 30K+ each. The people who would sell the junk to the buyer would pay the buyer real $ for buying the junk.

3. Gold Farming
- This is still going on today. Basically, the GP seller logs onto the buyer's account and makes the gold by doing various tasks such as killing green dragons, picking flax, smelting steel bars, playing the Sorceress Garden minigame, etc.

 

well i remember d stoning (dragon stones) people would buy uncut dragon stones and the buyer would buy a bunch of fire runes and sell them for tokkul in the lava cave once he had enough the seller of RSGP would sell dragon stones to the NPC then the buyer would buy it instantly then go bank and rinse and repeat

 

That's exactly what they did.

 

Their were many methods/glitches, and some people used junk to trade.

 

Merching it prettymuch or fariming it.

 

There were various methods that would always come out, then eventually get patched.

But the main method, was just to buy low on ge on the account recieving the gold and trade to the other account for mid price.
